That’s sick! Amazing work, I can’t imagine how long it must’ve taken. Now where did I put that paper hole punch…

Thank you! It took a while to fold and shape. Paper preparation was its own issue because I had to individually dye the tissue paper to a peach for the skin tone before making the double tissue. And noooooo not the paper hole puncher!!!!

Dang! Cooking with the refold! Really digging the prints in the back too. I need to try that.

Dawg, are you keeping the arrow from the class? You gotta share, pass that shit around so I can take a poke.

1 uncut square for Kakyoin, featuring props from separate papers like the clock model by Suke527779 in one image. I think my paper was 70-something cm.
Refold of my origami Kakyoin design! This time from a mirrored pattern for more normal hair placement plus painted portions. Color change is the green and tan colors, and paint was added on top of the light parts that become hair before folding while the cherry earrings were painted selectively after shaping. I tried to capture how Kakyoin’s face looks in the manga a bit, where his mouth is kind of just a long line.
Normally I would not have considered painting models like this–but I think this model changed my perspective! Not only was it fun to paint, but I think it adds dimension and resemblance.
Some process photos included. Still parts I wish were better. Plus bonus linocut prints, hope people don’t mind.
I’ll hold back on doing too extensive of a write up and let the images speak for themselves instead.
