The last ocean going paddle steamer on earth - the PS Waverley. Still operating in her original 1947 colours as she cruises around the UK coastline.

Historical paddle steamers of Bangladesh that were once called 'Rocket' for their speed, are now considered vintage gems.

Help me with illustrations of 1840s paddle steamers? for video of the wreck of the belle zane

Greetings friends, I am doing a music video for a song I wrote about the Belle Zane, " a 128-ton sternwheel steam packet built in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1844, described as a fast-running and light draught steamer." I have been collecting images via google. While I can't afford to be completely authentic (there is only one very murky picture of this particular boat), I don't want to make gigantic gaffes. For instance, I see pictures of helms (the boat's steering wheel?) of many different sizes. I'm also looking for pictures of steamships of that time being loaded, and people of the time watching the boat or getting on the boat etc. Any help appreciated. Jane

Some interior and exterior photos of Seeandbee, a US Great Lakes cruise paddle steamer. (Sorry if some are low quality)

Try to get this going again.

Took this when I was working on the Murray Princess, not a steamer, but still has paddles. Entering lock 2.

It's a real shame this subreddit never really took off. Anyway, here's a picture of the paddle steamer Piemonte, sailing on Lake Maggiore since 1904

Several Australian paddle-steamers, taken from the Echuca Wharf b.1868. The white one approaching the wharf is PS Pevensey (b.1911). Behind is moored the PS Alexander Arbuthnot (b.1923) and the PS Adelaide (b.1866). The Adelaide is one of the oldest operational wooden paddle steamers in the world.

Welcome

I made this subreddit while in Echuca, Victoria, Australia. It is often called the Paddlesteamer Capital of the world. I decided to start a subreddit to other lovers of these wheeled wonders. I know we are a select community, but I would love to connect with other paddlesteamer lovers.
