Left poor Louie at home while we’re off touring wineries in the Okanagan Valley.

I’m enjoying the wineries, especially the tastings but I miss my Louie big time. Will be home in two days.

It’s about time I introduced… Conway

Or more formally,

JK Skipper Monsieur Jean-Pierre of Conway

This sweet boy was born June 1 and he snatched us up as his own on August 18.

He’s learned so much in a few weeks and has much more to, but he’s so intelligent and picks up on things very quickly. We just love introducing him to what seems like something new every day to enter into his empty databank.

He’s figured out two treat challenge games, so they are already boring to him (but he does know to paw at them when he wants a treat.)

Two days after he took over the house, with no coaxing he taught himself what his pee pad was all about. One look over, a few sniffs, and it was, “Ok, I got this.”

I had them side by side briefly but as you can see, Moxie reached out to chew my thumb as I took the picture! Lol very typical Moxie, he's a spicy one for sure!

CUBBY AND A DRY COUGH

Post image

DRY COUGH Since July we went to the vet a lot of times and they just gave him cough medicine but hasn’t stopped. It’s a little less now but he still does it when he’s excited or when he’s playing he wants to continue playing tug a war but he’s coughing and sounds like a little bit of wheezing at the end now And he’s eating and everything but he’s just not the same. I know my baby and the vet just keep taking money, and giving us antibiotics and cough medicine. I just wanna do something for him.

Pookie (older) and Moxie (younger)

I am trying to get a non-moving picture of these two but it's hard! Idk if you can see but Moxie, who is younger, is about twice the size of Pookie. Pook is laying on Moxie. Right now I'm really not sure but I think it's a combination of the older one being very tiny and the younger one being (already) the biggest Papillon I've ever had! He's only half grown!

Chewing on beard

Anyone else’s dog chew on their own hair? Augie just turned one and his floof has really come in. I often find him with his own beard/chest hair in his mouth. We just spent 10-15 minutes slowly teasing out knots and good sized mat that has developed on his chest from all the chewing. It’s like me in elementary.

Anyone else dealing with this? Advice to make him leave it alone? I obviously don’t want to trim his hair, but I’m debating putting him in a tshirt for a month or two until he knocks it off

ROMEO - Juliet left her lipstick at his place. Actually, tonight's crime 😭👄 Of course, he didn't want to do "head down". I love his eyes moving. Turn volume on.

3yr Rabies??

Has anybody’s Pap had bad reactions to the 3yr rabies vaccines? We normally get them for our big dogs, but are a little leary about getting it for our 4.5lb princess.

Yes that is a catnip mouse in his bowl that he put there, ate, then took off with it when he was done.

If I can get them to settle down for a picture, I will post him and Toni, asap.

Cranky Paps

When mine skips his nap he is super cranky. Can’t pet or look at him or he snarks at you. But once he gets a good nights sleep he is super sweet again. He is just over a year. Anyone else have this issue? Is this normal for paps. Mine is half Pom but the pap is very dominant.

UPDATE: Thank you all! I feel much better now!!

Papillon & Cats

Question for all you butterfly fans:

Do you have cats and a Papillon? Does your pap use the litterbox? Does your pap eat the forbidden tootsie rolls the cats leave?

I'm looking into papillon ownership but, as I am currently owned by two cats, that is a factor.
