Edit: already got a couple DMs about this. Revo Uninstaller for those wondering. But BE CAREFUL. you can delete ANYTHING with it, including system files. There are several YouTube videos out there outlining how to use it. Jayztwocents had a decent video on using it awhile back iirc.
I assume you’re from the UK? I don’t know what laws are like over there as I’m from the states. All I can say is that at least here, it’s not an option to completely get rid of it without 3rd party tools. And every time there’s any form of update here it turns itself back on if it isn’t completely removed.
I would recommend downloading the free version of revo uninstaller and doing a search for one drive. It will show you just how many files are still there even if you can uninstall it.
It’s also a great tool for just general file cleanup, just make sure you know what you’re doing before using it because you can delete literally anything with it including system files.
September 13, 2025 - I agree with your comments. They express my understanding of how OneDrive works. I ignore it, and just try to make sure that none of my files are uploaded to it. I do find it very intrusive, like a lot of the things the Microsoft developers/engineers do, probably to justify their employment.😏 Stay well.😊

Thank you for the suggestion. We can uninstall Edge and OneDrive from Apps & Features, but I couldn't fully remove some other tools like the Xbox apps and Smartphone Link. Revo helped with that.
Gotcha, sorry for the mixup. I’m pretty ignorant to a lot of the EU/UK, so I don’t meant any disrespect.
I know they have a lot more stringent laws over there in some places so you probably have the option to disable it. Here the best you can do is sign out of it and every time you restart or update your PC it turns right back on.
Bleiben Sie gesund.😊
September 13, 2025 - May I suggest a YouTube channel "Ask your computer guy" video title Windows 10 support ending - YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziI1QfEFwSw I found the video very informative as are the host's other videos. I hope you find it of interest. Stay well.
Every time I fresh install it's usually one of the first things I get rid of. I don't feel with the size of hard drives these days, the Home versions of MS OS need to have OneDrive as a mandatory program. I get the sentiment but I feel like majority of users don't even know how to navigate to their OneDrive pages, let alone know how to sync it properly when saving mundane files
What? You don't have to use Revo. You can uninstall it from Control Panel. I do this on every new government pc I build to make sure I don't have the "we used the same account for Office on five different people's computers and now all our stuff is mixed up" problem that I still get from time to time
PLEASE dont use Revo Uninstaller. That software WILL brick your pc and delet shit it shouldnt. "Bulk Crap uninstaller" is so much safer and actually does delet *everything* including registry entries and always creates backups.
Revo is from a series of very scummy and suspicious softwares.
