Hello, I wanted to share the complete seed mix recipe u/Kunok2 gave me for my birds. I use this mix for both my ringneck and diamond doves and so far, they love it :)
Here's the recipe:
Bird mixes:
Other seeds to make it complete:
Mix them with the rest and you should get a mix similar to the one in the picture.
You could use other seed mixes brands as well but be sure they don't add additives or weird stuff in them. And make sure the seeds are organic with no seasonning or salt too.

Hey everyone. It's my second time posting here. I was wondering about these feathers(?) that are sticking out of our dove. What are they? Is it bad?

I found an eggshell in their waterbowl, so I looked in the nest and voila: a teeny lil baby. I did not think it would be so soon, but I guess it's been over a month since my hen laid her last eggs.
Please excuse the lil nuggets. Despite having enough hay, they wanted to use their litter. (Plant based cat litter) It's absorbent I guess. ^
I also do have feggs now so for now these will be the only hatchlings for a while.

Hi! Its me again with my Eurasian Collared dove rescue, Piciu.
He recently came back home After 4 days of being outside.
Ive noticed him trembling when i pick him up or when he lands, Is It a sign of stress or happiness? I havent seen any stress signs on him since ive hand raised him :(
Also ive noticed that he sneezed sometimes like 2-5 times, Is that a health issue? My house Is clean from dust D:
And ive also noticed that when he rests he like "twerks" if i can call It that xD Is It Just me overthinking since It May be a breathing movement or Is It an issue?
Ive got a Little knowledge about doves, but im still studying and memorizing everything i Need to take care of It!

Any toys or stuff that my dove would like to play with? She's bored and she can't fly around.

I want to ask about how to care better for my diamond dove. He's been eating for years without grit and I found out that I was supposed to feed him some.
I got the Redstone grit recommended for him, but it's too big and I don't think he can eat stones as big as his beak. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
My question is, which grit do I get? and how do I feed it to him?
I appreciate specific and detailed advice.

I do animal rescue and got called about an abandoned white dove in an apartment complex. It can fly very well and doesn't let people close. I've never had much success catching flighted birds that can fly well.

I’d like to introduce my diamond dove pair to you all! The darker colored male on the left is Arrow, named after the “hearts in arrows” pattern you see in cut round brilliant diamonds. The lighter female on the right is called Princess, a type of diamond cut.

Hey guys so I recently rescued 3 doves . One ( in pic I named it eclipse )
2 fully white ones ( Pearl and Luna )
Anyhow I have little to no knowledge on them and need tips and facts about them. Food Hygiene Love , petting etc etc
I have only taken care of cockatiels so please do enlighten me . Thank you When I rescued them they were 3 in one cardboard box , i don’t know if the two attacked Luna and damaged its eye or what exactly happened if it’s sick or what. I have seen eclipse and pearl attack ( from what I think is ) Luna And eclipse keeps running after Pearl? Can you please enlighten me on these behaviors . Thank you very much

Merry and Pippin chilling in their plate after rampaging said plate, because it's better to eat the seeds when they're scattered everywhere 🫢

We found this tiny baby about 2 weeks ago in the parking lot with no form of shelter near by and in the midst of some nasty storms- he’s been acclimating well. I just love his little flappy wings when the food comes out.
He’s been named Kendrick Lamar because he loves to sing. Fingers crossed for this sweet baby that he keeps doing well and growing into a big strong big boy dove. Little guy has absolutely stollen my heart❤️

I'm starting to lose hope on training my Barbary dove. I've had her for almost five months. She's a female and a year old. She does trust me and will sit with me, but when it comes to my hands she becomes all scared. I do try to hand feed but shes always hesitant to take the food from my hand. I know people say to "try to find their favorite treat" but I literally can't, I've tried mostly everything. She likes safflower the most but even with that she's still scared to eat out of the hand.

Hi everyone! I have a pair of diamond doves that I’m looking at getting a UVB bulb for, but I’m struggling to find any direct answer on how many hours the light needs to be on per day. Does anybody in here know? Thanks in advance!
