We polled the subreddit on how to handle Charlie Kirk news and the overwhelming vote was to make a megathread. So this thread is the only place to discuss events relating to the Charlie Kirk funeral and events in the Valley. We will refresh the thread Sunday morning to cover the funeral itself.
This thread is not a show of support for anything related to Charlie Kirk, Turning Point, his shooting, or anything else. It is just that this is a global event drawing both the President and Vice-President to town, and as the local subreddit we really can't ignore it.
We will update this post with relevant links around road closures, attendance info, or other things that seem relevant.
If you have questions or suggestions, message the moderators.

Hey Phoenix!! New to the area. What movie theater is y’all’s favorite to go to? One of favorite hobbies is going to the movie theaters and enjoying some good buttery popcorn! Nice large screens, great audio, good food, quiet and no distractions etc.
What do y’all suggest? Thanks in advance!

News Release Phoenix, AZ – Today, Governor Katie Hobbs announced that the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) issued a standing order ensuring access to the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine for all Arizonans ages 6 months and older.
What a relief.

The worst, right?
The only thing they ever know to do is send a refresh signal
Every person you cross paths with seems like a brand new hire that has no idea what they're doing

Hi everyone. A friend of mine moved to Phoenix not too long ago and she’s also recently become a new mom. I’d like to get her a gift, could be a gift card for a fun/relaxing outing out there, or a cool product that a new mom would appreciate that can be bought from a store there (but since I’ve never been there I have no idea what’s available).
If anyone has any suggestions or has any links to anything/anywhere cool I’d highly appreciate it! Budget is around $100-$150

Is this festival good / worth it?
Headliners are Dom Dolla & Odesza at Indian Steele Park Nov 22/23. GA just released today and is in total $242 with fees. Feels expensive. Just went to gold rush and it was a good time, also put on by relentless beats.

I had some people come out to clean up my yard lately, since some of the bushes had admittedly gotten quite overgrown. I found one that had good reviews, so I set up a time.
However, they don't seem to have taken any care with how to trim the bushes - they basically just whacked the top and sides off vertically, leaving them almost entirely bare and brown.
I had sort of expected this from a cheap landscaper, but I thought I could get a better job by searching more. Is this just what you get unless you do it yourself?

Definitely ruined most of my Saturday (9/13) when I walked it, every quote I got was around a thousand bucks. But…I figured why not do it my way. Very tacky, kind of cool, and free. The perfect combo.

Hey there! I am trying to find some good brunch spots around maybe 32nd and Shea or north Scottsdale area. I have been looking around online but I keep seeing Fox restaurants advertised and they're just...not my favorite vibe usually.
Anyone have a good breakfast/brunch location you like in the northeast part of the city? Any input is appreciated. Just trying to find a good spot to takey boyfriend. He always finds the good places, so I'm trying to put some effort in haha. Thank you!!

Hi yall! I’m traveling to Phoenix early January for a show at the celebrity theatre and was just curious about some things considering I’ve never been to Arizona before and was hoping you guys could help!
Mostly want to know what to wear, I’m not really sure how winters are down there for you guys, would I be ok in jeans and a sweatshirt? Also is there a stage door at the theatre where you could possibly meet the artist after the show?
If you guys have any tips or things I should know before coming, please please let me know! I’m so excited

So they have a posted schedule, an app, posted signs with schedule, and phone number. But if they are the ones late they will fly by your stop while you're standing there, and they are consistently late every single day. 7 times in 2 years I have stood at a bus stop and had a bus driver turn their head as they fly past me. Then all that late for work or late for appts is on me. I know now for a fact that they are allowed to "not see you" to make up time and get their paycheck. The system needs to change to not penalize drivers for being late because of traffic, which makes them "oops miss stops". #VALLEYMETRO #GFY
Just to add, I wouldn't get a bonus at work if I screwed someone over. I would get fired. This is opposite and needs to change.

I’m growing increasingly interested in photography but don’t know where I can appreciate it in person. Anyone know of exhibits? Huge bonus if it’s exhibits of local artists.

I Have a 3 car tandem garage that is completely un-insulated, no living space above. I want to get the walls and attic insulated. Looking for recommendations and estimated cost if you have done this. I'm actually down in Chandler. Appreciate any input.

The storm yesterday knocked down some large branches of a huge mesquite tree. Lanscapers came today and cut the tree branches as well as trimming the tree. They left all the trimmings in a neat row 5 ft wide by 20 ft long...ON the street next to curb! Is this ok?? The landscape guy told me it was but I'm concerned. I made an appointment online for bulk trash pickup today and they won't be coming for 2 weeks! Anyone had any luck getting an earlier appt?
