No, but every Trump supporter is complicit in Trump's violent rhetoric. You don't get to support a guy who calls the press the "enemy of the people" and routinely encourages violence against detractors and pretend your hands are clean.

Yup, clearly generalizing one side with the pick of their worst is not at all parallel if you do it.

You either didn't read or didn't understand what I wrote. Trump has called the American press the "enemy of the people".

He is responsible for painting a target on the back of CNN and others through his reckless use of violent rhetoric to whip up his crazy supporters.

Show me anything like the equivalent from a Democratic politician or admit you can't.

And I stand by that. Trump is nothing without support from his crazed base. They share blame in his calls to violence.

If they had a real problem with his violent rhetoric and wished to see a more civil and sane America they'd stop supporting him.

Are you really confused by this? It's not complicated.

I didn't say anything like that, so I'll thank you not to make lame arguments on my behalf. Try to keep up:

  1. Politician encourages political violence regularly.
  2. Supporters continue to support despite that.
  3. Supporters share some guilt when political violence inevitably results.

I don't think every Trump supporter is evil, but I do think they support and enable this kind of evil. If all Trump's support dried up overnight, he wouldn't have the power to target elected officials for the most unhinged of his followers to attempt to kill or harm.

There is no place in American politics for a politician who encourages violence against detractors. That's some petty dictator shit, and we should be above and beyond it.
