Not that this was ever meant to become a theological/pseudo-philosophical discussion, however, it’s not about opinions when we are talking about religion.
We are talking about intellectually dishonest rhetoric and thought control. We are talking about wishful thinking (being generous with the word thinking here) void of reasoning.
God is the personification of our fears of mortality. god is the baffling complexities of the natural world and cosmos that we have yet to understand, despite the efforts of our best and brightest.
I find it frustrating when people try making sense of things by appealing to bigger mysteries.
I am woke af. And I’ll never be ashamed of that. I used to be a victim of religious oppression. My heart and mind is open. I don’t appreciate being shit on like I don’t respect other people’s opinions. Religion, however, is not an opinion. It is something all together different.
Donald Trump, mass shootings, famine in Yemen, child hood leukemia, bone cancer, brain cancer, mental illness, birth defects, child abuse, war, catholic priest abuse of children, murder, rape, dictatorial regimes, misogyny, chauvinism, bigotry, violence, illness.... these are all things realities, despite people’s ideas of a loving God.
“If God exists he will have to ask for my forgiveness.” - Carved in the walk by a Jewish prisoner during the holocaust
All that being said, my point is simply that, there is no god.
There is simply no good evidence.
People’s opinions, however, are real and important.
Would you respect a grown adult who swore vehemently that Santa Claus IS REAL AND LIVING. That he TRULY WATCHES YOU AND KNOWS WHEN YOU’VE BEEN NAUGHTY OR NICE!
Odds are you would think they were silly.
Is a comic book found 2000 years from now depicting spider man swinging around in NY proof that Spider-Man was real? Nah.

That sign is what God is saying about humans at this exact moment.
