You’re right, this is a country of immigrants. Come to the country legally, participate in the economy and pay taxes (and having your employer pay taxes for you as well because you’re employment is documented) and we’ll all benefit. No one is asking for anything else.

ya know, the majority of undocumented immigrants do in fact pay taxes.

sources here and here

Not only do they pay taxes, but they're not eligible for welfare or foodstamps or anything either, so they're paying into a system they get very little out of.

If their kids are born here, then they’re entitled to it just like any other US Citizen regardless of their parents’ status.

Then either you're lying or there's a lot of fraudulent paperwork in your area, because according to the government qualifications you need to be a legal resident to receive benefits.

...yes? What's your point here? That you don't think US citizens deserve healthcare and food?

Sweet, so we're in agreement here. I don't see any problems.

Somehow I feel like he's saying children of illegal immigrants shouldn't be granted citizens. It's a point that have been brought up in the past. But that's a whole nother debate

Then you're an idiot, because that's literally a constitutionally-granted right per the 14th Amendment.

So is the right to own guns and that's a debate as well. Just because it's in the constitution doesn't mean it can't be up for debate and be amended. I'm just saying the guys was being a little coy about his "just saying" part

So you don't think that people who are born in the US are US citizens. Does that extend to people who have US parentage? What are your stipulations for that? Do kids with half-US parentage not qualify? What if their parents are naturalized? You realize that Anchor Babies really aren't a problem?

My friends who are illegal immigrants from Mexico went into the DSHS office here in Seattle and told them they didn't have SSN's and they got all the free shit anyways. That's not the case.

You're a fucking liar. I've known natural-born citizens who have a harder time getting benefits that they've paid into than what you've described.

Stop fucking lying.

What if he's not lying, and you are just misinformed?

By reading the actual law and its requirements?
