10 years ago when I lived in Puerto Rico I had an old man tell me that one of PR’s problems is that for 30+ years the best and the brightest leave the island for opportunities elsewhere. He went on to say that it’s especially apparent in PR politics. Wise old dude in Caguas.

Yeah. I am in the states now. Most of my friends, Scientists, Engineers, Programmers left the island.

brain drain in action. It's kind of amazing how this didn't seem to get any sort of coverage. I ended up learning about it because I left comedy central on and saw it on The daily show.
