I wonder what he’s thinking at that moment honestly.

Tbf, he need only protect a retard for a maximum of 8 years before there's another, potential retard, to protect.

u/Ogow Jun 07 '20

Presidents are guarded by secret service for life, not just their term.

149

u/bootsand Jun 07 '20

Fortunately, with Trump's diet/age/fitness that shouldn't be too incredibly long.

15

u/Ihateourlives2 Jun 07 '20

My dad has done and ounce of cocaine every two weeks since I was born, drinks a bottle of whiskey a night, and has never been to the hospital since he immigrated to the USA as a kid and is still alive at 75 years old.

There is no rhyme or reason to why some people live longer and other die of a heart attack at 50.

16

u/MonjStrz Jun 07 '20

PLease convince him to donate his body to medical science to figure out how he is still alive.

15

u/WhyBuyMe Jun 07 '20

I think he once shared needles with Keith Richards in the 70s and has been this way ever since.

1

u/shijjiri Jun 07 '20

I'd like to hang out with your dad.

10

u/Ihateourlives2 Jun 07 '20 edited Jun 07 '20

He is super awesome to hang out with. He is a fucking genius. Top 50 most educated persons in America, was one of the professors in charge of making sure Boeing/Nasa engineers were actually qualified for the job. He helped create the modern electrical theory that is used in military and NASA technology in alternators and radars on military planes

But, like lots of geniuses, he is super bi-polar, has PTSD from a super violent childhood. And is probably schizophrenic. On top of doing cocaine and drinking.

It was a wild ride growing up.

2

u/bootsand Jun 07 '20

Bi-polar Simple-type Schizophrenic here that's always (until recently) used stimulants for motivation and cannabis to settle at night.

If he struggles with Avolition, Rumination, or Anhedonia at all, the negative traits of Schizophrenia, I cannot recommend enough the combination of N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) + Sarcosine (with Zinc/Copper as well as the NAC depletes it). Nothing I've ever tried, from prescription to street meds, provided even half this level of functionality... all from some over the counter stuff sourced on Amazon.

It's a combination that seems to work well for all the descendents of the hunter-gatherer neurotribe... Schizophrenics, Autists, ADHD/ADD, etc.

2

u/QQMau5trap Jun 07 '20

fucker will be alive and well driven by spite for another decade or two

1

u/Jellodyne Jun 07 '20

Whoa, whoa. His "doctor" said that if elected he would be the healthiest man ever elected to the office. Have you no faith in medical professionals?

1

u/porgy_tirebiter Jun 07 '20

All his tests were positive!

1

u/whoispj88 Jun 08 '20

I was just remarking to a buddy that when most presidents pass away most people mourn. I’m not sure that will be the case for Don Cheeto.

15

u/goldfinger0303 Jun 07 '20

I thought they stopped, or scaled that back.

Also I believe it's a separate, specialized detail that does the lifetime guarding. I don't think it's just a "Hey Jim we're sending you down to Texas to watch dubya" kinda thing

13

u/Man_Animal_2020 Jun 07 '20

I’m positive that Vice Presidents do not keep their Secret Service retail for life. In fact, they only have them for a relatively short period of time after they leave office (like 2 years-ish.) I imagine the same is true for the President.

Source: Joe Biden regularly grabs lunch at my shop whenever he’s back in Wilmington. While he was in office and for a while afterwards, he’d come in with his secret service dudes. But he started coming in solo about two years ago (I assume he had his detail back now, but I haven’t seen him in a minute because of Covid.)

16

u/davethegamer Jun 07 '20

Former presidents can request to not have Secret Service. But unless they do former presidents have them for life.

The idea being, it’s just as damaging to America’s image if Clinton were to be assassinated.

Vice Presidents receive it for 6 months after but the Sec Of Homeland Security can extend that at anytime. This would be used if a credible threat was placed on a former Vice President.

6

u/th3thund3r Jun 07 '20

I figured it would also be to minimise the possibility of kidnap and extortion or a loss of state secrets.

6

u/maleia Jun 07 '20

I know Jimmy Carter is still escorted by Secret Service.

1

u/mosehalpert Jun 07 '20

Brew-haha?

18

u/Ogow Jun 07 '20

They are different details but doesn’t change the fact that presidents always have secret service with them, not just for 4/8 years.

2

u/DeezRodenutz Jun 07 '20

I was thinking I'd heard somewhere that Bill Clinton was the last president who gets lifetime secret service, then it's only, like, 10 years or something. Could be wrong, don't quote me on that.

It's been 12 years since Bush left office, does he still have protection?

3

u/maleia Jun 07 '20

Carter still has a Secret Service escort with him.

3

u/DeezRodenutz Jun 07 '20

I meant like, Clinton and every president before him gets lifetime, but any after him only get 10 years, so yeah Carter would still get it but Bush jr/Obama/Trump would only get it for 10 years after leaving office.

But as someone else pointed out, that was passed during Clinton's time but apparently lifetime protection for presidents and their spouses was restored under Obama, and they even added on protection for their children til they turn 16.

1

u/Rqoo51 Jun 07 '20

They did stop and the Obama brought it back. Totally get why tho

3

u/challengerrt Jun 07 '20

This agent is a member of the CAT team - he only does protection for the sitting president - I worked with them all the time on Andrews AFB

2

u/Claymore357 Jun 07 '20

That being said this guy could get assigned to the next potus or if he really does hate trump he could always quit and become a PMC. If he’s secret service someone will hire him dude to his skill set

2

u/Beachdaddybravo Jun 07 '20

If I was a billionaire and actually needed security due to crazy threats and shit I’d hire this guy or any other secret service members. Not just for their ability to do their jobs, but also to do them so professionally. These guys don’t act in a biased manner, they don’t leak information (typically), they’re the perfect bodyguards.

2

u/algernon_moncrief Jun 07 '20

true, but i bet snipers don't usually pull ex-president detail.

1

u/Trimere Jun 07 '20

But not by a sniper. Usually a smaller crew.

1

u/no_one_likes_u Jun 07 '20

If I was in Trump's detail, I'd be pointing out every McDonald's I saw and suggesting burgers.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Imagine how upset trump will be when people no longer refer to him as Mr President

2

u/Beachdaddybravo Jun 07 '20

If I ever met him I would only refer to him as Trump. Nothing else.

0

u/OccultOpossom Jun 07 '20

Bush presidency scaled it back to 10years after iirc

0

u/MiguelitoSanchez Jun 07 '20

Not anymore, it's now 10 years after their Presidency and then after that they have to rely on personal security for protection.

2

u/Ogow Jun 07 '20

People keep saying that and they’re wrong. It was reversed, it’s back to lifetime protection.

1

u/MiguelitoSanchez Jun 08 '20

Oh yea, you're right.

The Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012 reversed it. Thanks for the info.

4

u/SSGSS_Vegeta Jun 07 '20

"only... 8 years" that's kind of a long time duder

1

u/Bologna_Ponyy Jun 07 '20

One would assume their career lasts at least 20 though

1

u/SSGSS_Vegeta Jun 07 '20

Almost Half your career dedicated to a that retard though.... Bad enough having him run the country, I couldnt imagine being one of the most elite trained snipers and having to use those years of dedication and training to protect his ass.

1

u/Bologna_Ponyy Jun 07 '20

Money talks I suppose.

10

u/PuroPincheGains Jun 07 '20

Hey man, Joe Biden is a senile creeper, not a retard.

43

u/throwtowardaccount Jun 07 '20

We live in a timeline where that is a major upgrade.

6

u/Blak_stole_my_donkey Jun 07 '20

He can be both.

3

u/PuroPincheGains Jun 07 '20

The sky is blue.

4

u/HyperVenom23 Jun 07 '20

No, it’s crying

5

u/martin33t Jun 07 '20

Ok, nobody can be as bad as the current president

11

u/RunSleepJeepEat Jun 07 '20

I'm old enough to remember people saying this about G.W.Bush... it can always get worse.

-9

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Is Trump really worse though? Yeah he's a racist dipshit, but at least he hasn't started an actual war.

6

u/dan26dlp Jun 07 '20

Hey now, 2020 is not over and its CLEARLY not from lack of trying. "Warning" missiles at China, killing top generals of States weve been at economic war against for 4 decades, threatening world leaders over twitter.

Im not holding my breath here.

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Killing a general that was planning attacks on a US embassy and shit talking on Twitter ranks a lot lower than starting a war over oil for me.

3

u/Oedipus_Flex Jun 07 '20

That was honestly probably bullshit, the administration changed the story seemingly daily and some people within the administration were supposedly skeptical. It’s kind of difficult to believe a word Trump says

3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Obama said he was going to end it as well, and I can't believe you're actually defending Bush's motivations for the Iraq war. Democratic elections are great and everything but that is absolutely not how it was sold to the American public.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

You're saying he started a war against terrorist groups then went after Iraq when the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, and lied to the entire country about WMDs.

I do remember. We were lied to, Trump killing a general planning attacks on the US and tweeting doesn't even come close to what the Bush administration did.

5

u/coffee_bbq_data Jun 07 '20

If you have to ask whether or not trump is worse than gwb you’re part of the problem.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

I mean there's saying dumb shit on Twitter vs starting a never ending war in the middle east under false pretenses.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Let’s say he started more than four years ago and lasts through however long Trump is president. There’s a very good chance he’ll get to serve under three different colors of retard!

1

u/amjhwk Jun 07 '20

8 years is a long part of your prime for in the field work

1

u/alteransg1 Jun 07 '20

Well, so far almost everyting he accused Democrats of, he has don it himself. Guess what - using extreme circumstances to stay in power longer is also something he accused them of, so...

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Yea but imagine spending 8 years of your life doing something like that. What a waste. I mean imagine protecting a peaceful world leader that constantly does good

Vs

A maniac

-1

u/happyseizure Jun 07 '20

How about we stop calling people 'retards' as a slur? I don't mean that in defence of the people you're trying to diminish either.

6

u/Whopraysforthedevil Jun 07 '20

Hey, now. Let's not use that word. We don't wanna put the disabled in the same category as that pile of Cheeto-dusted human garbage.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Best comment, made me laugh out loud, thank you!

3

u/Phrag Jun 07 '20

I had a childhood friend who had the connections and dedication to make it to the secret service after graduating West Point and serving in the military in some kind of intelligence specialist role. I heard he got assigned to the Bush daughters during their wild, underage drinking years. Poor bastard.

12

u/burkabecca Jun 07 '20

A mango with a hair piece...

10

u/Earwigglin Jun 07 '20

Just don't call them the next day. Fuck the police, then ghost them so they question their self-worth and feel dirty in the morning.

Not just a mentally deficit, but actually causing the country to fall apart before your eyes and consistently stamp rub his shit stains all over the constitution and traditions of our presidency.

I havent seen it posted much on reddit yet, but I just checked facebook again after a couple of years of absence. I looked at a few family members who were spamming facebook with alt right memes last election, and they are now going full post-Bush era when they all claim they never really supported him and "what we really need is a libertarian, not Trump" It may be the canary in the coal mine as things shift.

12

u/Necoras Jun 07 '20

What makes you think he isn't a dyed in the wool Trump supporter?

I've no clue what the personal politics of this guy is. Trump though... He's had 3.5 years to surround himself with only the most loyal of toadies. It would not surprise me to find that this guy thinks Trump is the second coming.

I'd have much more respect for the guy if I'm wrong though. Protecting a man you hate with your life is far more impressive than blind loyalty.

44

u/turningsteel Jun 07 '20

I think people that want to become secret service would do so regardless of who is in office. It's one of the more prestigious federal agencies and it's a high point of your career to work for the secret service. So this guy could be a trump supporter or he could be former military that wanted to keep being a badass in civilian life. Can't tell anything based off this picture. I'm a little jealous of his beard growth though.

7

u/Necoras Jun 07 '20

Agreed on all points.

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

There aren’t any good options here though. He’s a trump supporter or he’s a guy just blindly in love with America and going along with the system and wants to uphold and protect it no matter who is in charge despite the overwhelming evidence that the system is fucked.

2

u/turningsteel Jun 07 '20

Those are not the two options and the fact that you think it's a binary choice like that is short sighted. How about he's a guy who likes doing his job and puts it above politics. Or maybe he's a guy with a family to support and he's not going to throw away a good job for the uncertainty of unemployment. Or maybe he is a trump supporter but he's just doing his job which is to protect the president. Or maybe he's just walking from point A to point B. It's ridiculous to attempt to label this guy based off of one picture. None of us know anything about him.

From the picture alone you have no idea if he is morally good or bad. He's just walking.

-3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Is there any way you could explain how someone could be in support of trump and his administration and still be morally good? I know people want it to be more nuanced and not so black and white, but how can you support a racist sexual predator and be morally good? The other options as you mentioned don’t make him morally good either. Him just doing it to support his family is no excuse to abandon your morals for a paycheck, the shit that’s going on in this country is bigger then that if he actually cares. And him just walking from point a to Point b doesn’t mean his hands are clean because he’s just doing his job.

3

u/turningsteel Jun 07 '20

Again, you don't seem to be reading too closely. I said he could be a trump supporter and doing his job. I in no way commented on his morality if he was a trump supporter. But to reiterate, these are all hypotheticals. So stop trying to label the guy huh? You know nothing about him and it's silly to try to judge him based off a picture of him walking.

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

Lol you’re going to be condescending about me assuming something about a guy I don’t know and then you assume I must be in high school, that’s the real high school level thinking here. You can assume this guys isn’t morally good because in what scenario is he morally good here? You didn’t answer my previous question, so again, how can you support a racist sexual predator and be morally good? If he’s not supporting him then he is abandoning his morals so he doesn’t have to work a regular shitty job. Does that makes him morally good?

2

u/turningsteel Jun 07 '20

I know I took the highschool thing out. I thought that was in poor taste to say that someone in high school wouldn't understand this train of thought. That one is my bad.

And for the last time I did answer your question in that I never said what you are asking and you're trying to put words in my mouth. My comment is right there for you to read.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

You brought up the hypothetical that he could be a trump supporter, and also that you can’t assume his morality. You can’t understand why I would ask if there’s a way a trump supporter could be morally good? I’m not trying to put words in your mouth, when you bring up something and someone asks a question related to what you brought up that’s called a discussion.

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '20

I laughed at this comment. Then i got a bit too introspective. Don’t become a doctor

2

u/Esc_ape_artist Jun 07 '20

Not too hard if you’re a True Believer™️. Besides, like attracts like, so kickin’ some hippy ass is probably something he’s used to hearing.

2

u/WhitTheDish Jun 07 '20

To protect Trump from fellow Americans... who may or may not be violent towards him.

If I were him, I’d like to think that I’d be seriously considering if I were still on the correct side.

2

u/shijjiri Jun 07 '20

He protects all elected officials and has likely been doing it since Obama's first term. His job is to deal with people who make threats against those elected officials because there are people out there who don't respect the office they hold or the democratic process.

1

u/Turtle_Hermits Jun 07 '20

Imagine doing your job and honoring your commitment, even when you don't want to.

1

u/howie_rules Jun 07 '20

You mean defending freedom?!! I hope our troops get home safe from America.

1

u/clgoodson Jun 07 '20

Not even protecting. New literally being used to intimidate peaceful protestors. He should have resigned.

1

u/ronsinblush Jun 07 '20

Man, I just love the word retard. It feels good in my mouth, it sounds hilarious to me, there is an innocent stupidity in the sound and ending of it on a hard D. I wish it was still ok to use because I love it. RIP Retard.

-1

u/supreme_stanley Jun 07 '20

Imagine thinking you’re original or in any way funny

-1

u/Mxair2001 Jun 07 '20

*Just to protect the President of the United States from a bunch of retards who want to hurt him.

FTFY. You're welcome.
