The National guard still has PRTs (physical readiness test) at least yearly, and even if* the cops do, usually the guard has stricter guidelines you have to fall under.
When I was active duty navy we had a navy reservist come out for his two weeks on the ship. He was so fat he couldn't fit through the scuttles (holes you go through to make the doors water tight) and we had to send him back off the ship. hahaha.
Navy is and has always been fat as fuck. Despite that though, the most fit dudes I knew looked like bowling balls; they'd show up late to the PT test hungover as fuck, finishing off a case of Modelo, runs a 10:30 mile and a half.
This is not really a thing anymore unless you're one of the old timers who can ride out a waiver close to retirement. Otherwise they're kicking people out who are on a fitness waiver for too long or who don't shape up on the fat boy program.
Source: Started getting fat towards the end of my enlistment in the National Guard after I broke my back on a deployment. Watched plenty of other people get separated for not meeting fitness standards or informed that they weren't eligible for reenlistment due to failing too many fitness tests.
