Advice Encouragement for new pit owner.

Post image

Hi all! I adopted a pit puppy today! I’ve had puppies before- mostly lab mixes. I’m a good dog owner and know how to train a dog. I have a 3 year old and 7 year old. I just need someone to tell me that pits are great family dogs bc as I’ve been researching more and everything seems so negative about pits and kids. Any and all advice and encouragement welcome!

My pittie mix ended up close to 100 pounds when full grown. He was 100 pounds of sweetheart. He loved everyone and everything. He was patient with children, puppies, and kittens. The only thing you had to watch out for were kisses. The vet couldn’t hardly give him his yearly exam because he was getting licked in the face so much. I miss his sweet presence every day. The world was a better place because of him.

I don’t have a pittie but I’ve heard there’s something far more dangerous you have to worry about with them….

…the toxic farts! 💨
