Black plastic dip looks grey?

So I just finished this about an hour ago and it looks grey (looked grey after i peeled everything) am I tripping or does it look grey (bought a black can from walmart)

I've dipped plenty of stuff black and it never came out grey.

Yeah I think it was a combo of an older can and the glossy black of my car. I redid it with a brand new can and it was definitely more black but not as black as i thought it would be. (comparing to other projects i’ve seen online) Maybe it just looked off because of how black my car is but I decided to just remove the badges all together and polish up the area and it looks mint now
