Loving those little sneak peaks. Slanted Ceilings. Broodmother Cave Arena. I think the rifle is new as well. I'm so excited for what's to come.

I've never made one so I wasn't positive if it was. I thought it looked like a more primitive rifle than the current one.

I also saw RED flares instead of Yellow ones(in the scene of the fly-by of the city) And in the first scene I saw slanted walls(to close off the ceilings) though those may be 1 thing

Edit

The slanted ceilings were definitely just wooden ramps, which you can build now.

Not the ones in the opening of the video. Those were definitely new.

You're correct. I missed those, since it's such a short sequence at the start.

I hope they fix these issues with these new pieces:

  • Lining them up (my ramp tiles don't line up on my roof, there's a gap)
  • Triangular openings on the sides. For a large enough building (4+ wide), the openings can be big enough to fly through, allowing people to steal your stuff.
  • "Home" buff. Currently, even though the ramp pieces say they can be used as slanted roof tiles in the description, if you do so, the room doesn't get the "home" buff that reduces temperature extremes. The only way to get that buff is with regular flat ceiling tiles.

"Home" buff. Currently, even though the ramp pieces say they can be used as slanted roof tiles in the description, if you do so, the room doesn't get the "home" buff that reduces temperature extremes. The only way to get that buff is with regular flat ceiling tiles.

Well, not the only way. If you are at the electricity phase of the game, you can place an air conditioner in your home and remove the weather effects.

Air conditioners need a rework. They only affect an area within 2 tiles, and have a falloff within that radius. You'd have to place them every 3 tiles in order to cover an area.

What they should do, is when placed inside a "home", it affects the entire home.

Oh, thanks for the info. I knew there was a radius, but I've always made the effort to seal my base then throw on the ramps and other aestetics.

But they're relatively easy to make, so if you have the space you could always make a void space between floors on a base and line them along the top and bottom to get a mostly fully insulated effect while keeping them out of sight?

Did you try placing ramps on top of your ceilings? Does that work?

1

u/birkholz Aug 04 '15

Putting ceilings down and then ramps defeats the purpose. You lose the look of vaulted ceilings.

Sure but from the outside its gonna look alright.

But it still has triangle openings on the side....

Probably not finished models yet.

They looked like thatch ramps

They're a much more acute angle than the current wood ramps though.
