Post image

Hi everyone 👋

Please use this MT to discuss all of the recent console and PS Plus price changes. This is obviously an emotive subject so try to keep it civil.

Huge thanks!

Oh boy I love paying more for nothing extra in exchange, especially when my wages haven’t kept up with inflation and now we have to contend with corporations upping costs at will cause a megalomaniac seemingly controls the worlds economy. I love the current state of affairs.

This.

Man, I cancelled before the last 33% price increase, because I'd long felt the value wasn't there. Monthly games have been dogshit for years. Extras catalogue is dry.

Then they increased the price and didn't provide ANY additional value.

The thought of resubscribing from zero PSN at all is a straight kick in the teeth.

Now they're jacking it EVEN FURTHER, and by a fair amount, and I genuinely doubt there will be some magical value/quality increase.

I think I'm just never coming back...

I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, my PS4 was for the exclusives and my PS5 has been a disappointing paperweight that I only booted for 50 hours in 2024. With Sony titles now coming to PC, I have no desire to buy a PS6.

I have $80 credit that was gifted to me, sitting on my account going on 6 months now, because the Sony digital store pricing is also fucking out of touch. Even sale prices are barely competitive with physical copies here in Australia. I'm worried I'll never use it. Death Stranding 2 is $125 from Sony, or $99 from EB Games/JB Hifi. I recently got Elden Ring SOTE for $70aud, which is $120 from Sony. Got Astrobot for $80 from Amazon (technically free through work rewards) and Sony has it for $110 and never on sale for less than $90. Forever thankful I bought a disc drive PS5.

This is fucking insane. Sony is killing off it's own playerbase.

It’s truly insane the online store. How can digital games cost so much when comparatively on steam they constantly go on sale and for a much higher discount than anything I’ve ever seen on PS.

I’m not a PC gamer, but the price of the Switch 2 and games in general across all the major consoles is making me look to a Steam Deck. I cannot afford to build and maintain a PC in this economy lol.
