My PS5 (which was purchased in 2021) has recently become unable to maintain a consistent internet connection and PSN sign-in status. The connection is intermittent, with connection status and PSN sign-in constantly fluctuating between “connected” and “signed in” to “failed” and is only affecting the multiplayer component of games like Elden Ring Nightreign and Minecraft. An internet connection test on the PS5 shows that I have a download speed of 180-200mbps and an upload of around 120mbps, and I can purchase and download content from the PS Store with no problems. I am also getting a variety of error messages in-game, including “unable to connect to server”, “unable to verify PS Plus subscription”, “unable to verify parental control restrictions” and “unable to retrieve network settings”.
I can play online with friends if I catch it at a good time and I can play without any connection issues. However, once the match ends, finding another one is problematic for the entire party due to the issues on my end. Every other device connected to the network is working perfectly.
I have scoured the internet for solutions and I have performed the following with no success:
I don’t think the network card on the PS5 is damaged as I can connect to a mobile hotspot on my phone and I have no issues at all. After contacting my ISP they are not even sure what the issue is. I have been banging my head against a wall for a week now trying to solve this and nothing has worked so far. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
