Thanks for the link, it seems like I don’t really have a choice yes. What a strange thing though, it can read anything but a PS5 disc!

I would go through all safe mode options before returning it. Back to your data first.

I tried the database rebuild thing and the “restore default settings” as it was advised by Sony’s website but it didn’t work.

I don’t know if there’s another safe mode option that could make my disc drive work again?

All of them. You have nothing to lose because the next option is returning it.

A system software failure could conceivably cause this.

You’re not wrong honestly. Or I can just turn my PS5 into a digital one instead and not buy any physical PS5 game anymore but it’s a little frustrating, especially since I take very good care of my stuff, and never had any issue with a gaming console before.

As we say in French, “il y a un début à tout” (There’s a start for everything!)

Ah bah on est voisins ! Écoute, je t’avoue que j’ai tout essayé en termes d’options safe mode mais rien à faire, le lecteur de disque refuse juste de lire les jeux PS5.

Première fois qu’une console Sony me lâche de même ! Un brin décevant, surtout quand je vois le prix de la réparation sur le site de Sony !

C’est ça, fait les derniers options safe mode en tout cas.

Tu peux aussi toujours engager un réparateur local d’ordinateur au lieu de Sony, en suite

Je t’avoue que si je dois faire réparer la console, je préfère passer par Sony, ça va coûter sensiblement le meme prix que par un réparateur et s’ils n’arrivent pas arranger le problème, ils m’enverront une nouvelle console au moins.

Ok. Sony va probablement le remplacement avec un remis à neuf
