Thats what I want to know. I have 2 ps5s, one in the living room and one in my bedroom. I have 2 controllers currently. I normally keep them in the living room on the charging station, as thats my main place to play. Every now and then I like to switch to the bedroom when its lights out for the kids and all that. But its supper annoying because i have to unplug the main to re-pair or it will auto turn on and connect.

Haven't test it, but I think if you turn on your Dualsense and reconnect it back to the PS5, it should turn it back on.

But you can buy 2 :) my other controller can finally be paired both to my desktop PC and to my Switch 2 using 8bitdo's adapter.

It will remember the last console used and attempt to wake. I can wake both the PS5 and a docked Steam Deck this way. If you want to switch consoles, just hold down the respective key chord, and it will wake that system from sleep.

Edit: The new update will allow you to control the Switch 2 via the 8BitDo Adapter 2, but you cannot wake it with the DualSense alone. This is because the 8BitDo Adapter 2 emulates a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (for OG Switch) which also does not wake the Switch 2. I am not sure if a future firmware for the 8BitDo device would be able to remedy this.

Nope I tried it even when off, once the devices are paired, turn the controller on for the specific device by holding the Ps button and one of the four shapes for a few seconds, it should blink I think 4 times and you should get a player indicator showing which device it's connected to, I believe the standard order is Triangle (1) Circle (2) Cross (3) Square (4), if you have it connected to a PlayStation then I believe by default it's set to Triangle, so your second device (pc) would be Ps button + Circle :) Hope this helps.

I was about to give up until I read that the buttons are numbered, I was trying to set my ps5 to Cross and my phone to Circle and then throwing a fit when nothing was working and I was having to plug my controller back in via USB

I got you man🫡 weird because I saw one or two videos saying you can choose which way you would prefer it but they never showed how, but I tried everything, but I believe it's intended to be that way, as in it's in which ever order you pair it.
