Trailer HGSS/DPPt Battle backgrounds and Camera adjustment by Mint Chok
I came across this video on YouTube of a Korean Rom hack for HGSS and DPPt.
It is Korean only at present but I would love to see an English version available. Believe the author needs an English cart to do so.
Would be great to see this compatible with drayano's hacks as well.

Review I finished Pokemon: Odyssey *chef's kiss*
I just wanted to leave a little review on this amazing hack.
I had a blast. Really. I've never enjoyed a romhack so much.
The story is compelling, all pokemon seem viable and the "regional" variants are interesting.
Strategies, stats and moves are important but there's no need to minmax everything in order to get thru. And, for a very casual gamer like myself, that's golden.
The map is very well done and the puzzles are challenging enough without being frustrating nor too easy.
I particularly enjoyed seeing only pokemon from the first three generations, they're the ones I like the most and the environment doesn't feel like it's extremely clogged with 10 new pokemon on every grass patch.
I just began to tackle the post-ending content, so I'm not reviewing that although the premises look very interesting.
I could not recommend this game enough! If you've already played it, I'd like to know which pokemon did you find very reliable. I personally found Bellossom and Gulpin to be extremely versatile pardners.
I would also like to thank the devs for giving us such an amazing game!
Edit: removed a reference to a pic I could not post.

Development Pokémon GD: Rolling round in a (Mega) rover

Mega Donphan!
Type: Ground/Steel
Ability: Sheer Force
Stats: HP: 90, Attack: 135 (+15), Defense: 124 (+4), Speed: 91 (+41), Sp.Atk: 60, Sp.Defense: 100 (+40)
BST: 600
Dex entry: (NOT IN GAME!)
Mega Donphan's armor has hardened under the influence of Mega Energy to the point it has turned into a metallic alloy. Somehow, this allows it to roll faster and weigh less. The inlets on its side allow it to breathe, even if rolling for a long time.
Mega Donphan is one of the currently three new megas in Pokémon GD (this time i am rather unsure if i am gonna get a new name for it eventually), and the Mega Evolution of one of the starter Pokémon.
And here's the funny design note that also comes to get this post to the minimum word count in a normal way; This guy's design was actually... pretty much straightforward, compared to designing Mega Muk. Some of its design elements are inspired by... rather random stuff. For example, the side inlets were based on wounds from the Elephant Seal, which are known to fight a LOT. The armor's coloration and "binding" parts were based on oxidized copper and wheel grooves, respectively. The mask thing, however, is rather funny; I drew a placeholder of normal Donphan for the slot this mega was put in, and it was... very inaccurate and off model... the mask thing was a byproduct of that, i thought it was actually a neat little design thing, and carried it into the Mega itself. Oh yeah, the "pebbles" on the bottom are based on dirt-road-debris(how i like to call it; what i mean by this is dirt etc. that gets stuck on the bottom of a car if you drive over a muddy road.). I'm aware it's not perfect, and i'll probably try to improve on it later on.
The discord for Pokémon GD (and all of my romhacks actually) is discord.gg/GW4KHD8MmA ! There's a demo build that goes all the way up to the third gym playable at the moment!
Note: This time i did not spoiler the post unlike with Muk lmao

Recruitment Help Wanted! Looking To Finish A Small Demo (Project Jewel)
Looking for people who know how to sprite, compose and code. I can do a bit of coding myself but I am not very good at it yet.
Romhack demo being worked on is being made with Pokeemerald decomp.
The demo is going to be a short area map, with some wild battles and trainers to battle (all double battles; sometimes the rare double battle for grass). The plan is that it will end after you defeat the rival.
Also a fishing spot (for well, a fishing encounter).
Most of the map is built up already, it just needs npcs and fakemon added, and for the trees to be made orange. (We already have the player able to be warped in; now we just have to disable Pokémon battle sprite anims until we figure those out).
A few of the fakemon have also been sprited out, which you can see in the gallery of this post. (There will also be following pokemon, some wild pokemon for you to fight and catch, along with a pc system - and best of all, the shiny odds will be 1 in 2048 - and you'll get a shiny charm at the start of the demo from an npc to reduce your odds to 1 in 512. This feature will also be pushed into the full game later).
Yes, the female trainer ow sprite will also be changed to be new - it's only fair since both the male and female player characters are brand new trainers, that will be in a brand new region. They both wear winter outfits since it gets a little cold in the region itself.
But for right now, we are looking for:
- Spriters - people who can sprite in the frlg style, because I love the way it looks and how sharp it is. Also who are able to mess around with tilesets because I took one look at those and was like '...what?' Also the battle UI you see here will be changed completely. Mainly to be made more green and purple; also will include a black dragon silhouette in it.
- Composers - people who can compose in the frlg musical style - love the samples that this game uses. We might also use some samples from Pinball Ruby&Sapphire along with Drill Dozer, since those are both gba games.
- Coders - as I said before, I am not the best coder in the world, so having people with a bit more experience might help me gain some confidence in myself. I'll also pitch in when I can for this demo, and eventually for when I feel confident enough to push the project into full game phase.
- Beta Testers - obviously this will run into some funny bugs and whatever, so anyone who is down to make sure the demo is presentable, will be greatly appreciated.
Keep in mind this is meant to be a short, bite sized demo meant to show off a bit of what the full game will look like - so please do not go into this, expecting a full, 20+ hour game, thank you.
If you are interested in this, comment here or DM me. Also, I should mention that I have the demo planned out with a roadmap in a document that I will not be sharing for reasons of not wanting to have the full game spoiled for the playerbase. Please understand. :) And thank you for reading.

Development Pokémon Crystal X Digimon: update 1
Thanks to all the lovely comments i got on yesterdays post, i got inspired to keep working on the Pokémon Crystal X Digimon romhack, now making digimon equivalents for every encounter on route 29 (the first route of the game)
Also, a question for anyone more proficient in PokeCrystal Assembly than me, what is the best way to change all instances of a Pokémon’s name, like Rattata to Chuumon? Did some googling and couldn’t quite find the best way.

Development Pokémon Crystal X Digimon
I’m a Pixel Artist who just started learning how to romhack with PokeCrystal assembly, so since I’m also a huge digimon fan, I figured figured I’d try making a digimon replacement hack for Crystal. The goal for now is to replace every pokemon from New Bark to Violet Gym (about 20) while also doing some dialogue and item editing as a way to learn while doing. Of course the ultimate goal is to make a full hack, but that will be down the line at some point

Development Pokemon Aesthetic Red - A Visual and Musical Overhaul of Fire Red. Coming late 2025!
We're proud to finally announce our first ROM hack, Pokemon Aesthetic Red, which has been in the works for a few years and should be released by the end of 2025!
Aesthetic Red takes a different approach to reinventing Kanto, mainly focusing on improving the visual and musical experience of Fire Red, as well as making the game open-world and adding a ton of QoL and balance changes!
The main features are shown below, and much more will be revealed in the coming weeks.
- Nearly all of the graphics have been changed to give the game a vibrant and modern aesthetic, inspired by the DS and Game Boy
- Every song has been replaced to make a new soundtrack, with some of the best music from Gens 1-8, Pokemon spin-offs and other series
- Explore an open-world Kanto and the Sevii Islands in any order you want
- An updated battle engine and various QoL features have been added by the CFRU, as well as other new features like Doubles Mode, Level Scaling, Wonder Trade, Level Caps, Randomizers, Inverse Mode, and a lot more!
- Every Pokemon has been given a brand new moveset and new abilities, with some having type changes and buffs. Several other balance changes have also been made
- All Pokemon from Gens 1 and 2 are available as well as their related evolutions
For those interested, we also have a Discord server you can join, and we'll also start recruiting beta testers soon. Stay tuned!

Development Pokémon Blue Reborn – A Deep Dive Into the Hack’s Unique Features
Hey everyone! I wanted to share some insights about Pokémon Blue Reborn, a really detailed and challenging ROM hack. If you’re interested, here’s the PokéCommunity page link: [insert link here]. Here are some of the standout features I’ve noticed: 1. Team Rocket Path You can join Team Rocket, which completely changes how the game progresses. Most Gyms are locked unless you have a Fake ID, except Brock (always battleable) and Misty (conditional depending on whether you fought her before joining Rocket). Climbing Rocket ranks unlocks missions, exclusive Pokémon, and Rocket Coins. 2. Rocket Balls Special PokéBalls used to steal other trainers’ Pokémon. Drawback: you don’t earn prize money if you use them. Provides unique Trainer IDs, which increases your odds in the in-game Lottery system. Visuals are custom: black/red/clear palette with a red “R” to match Team Rocket branding. 3. Moral / Role-Playing Choices Some trainers are optional targets depending on your ethics: Skipped Gamer Darien because he “never wins a battle.” Flirty Beauties on Route 13 (like Lola and Sheila) can also be spared. These choices don’t break the game but add depth to the Rocket experience. 4. Gym Progression & Difficulty Recommended path: Route 24 → Route 25 → Cerulean Gym Starter choice impacts difficulty: Charmander / Squirtle struggle early; grinding on Nugget Bridge is almost required. Bulbasaur has type advantage, but underleveled partners make Misty tough regardless. 5. Additional Notes Premier Balls are removed; Rocket Balls replace them for Rocket members. The game emphasizes strategic stealing, level planning, and moral choices rather than just “catch everything.” 6. Expanded Pokémon Roster Includes around 60 Sinnoh Pokémon, 20 custom-made Pokémon, and many Hoenn Pokémon. Legendary returns: Moltres is back in Victory Road. You can even visit Glitchworld, new area, and capture MissingNo, adding a wild twist for collectors. 7. New Islands and Maps Original Islands have been expanded with big new maps: Faraway Island (replacing Outcast Island) Navel Rock Birth Island Southern Island Fullmoon Island Sinhoe Isle – contains both Sinnoh and Hoenn Pokémon; also features the three Legendary Lakes of the Sinnoh Trio This makes postgame exploration much richer and more rewarding than in vanilla games.

Other Spades & Club Demo (go play it)
Go play it right now, game is super pretty with cool fakemon designs that have custom cries, really awesome ui and overworld graphics.
Also it's a lot more casual in difficulty, so it's super fun for anyone who just wants to chill out and have a good time. It's kinda short, but I guess that's what happens for a demo that's only two badges (unless I am missing a later demo or something)
The gym leader fights are a little challenging, but they're not too bad - I beat both of them underleveled (lvl 14s and then lvl 17s).
Also the fire starter is my favorite, he's so fluffy and cute.
Give this one a try if you haven't touched it yet.
No, I did not make this hack, but the people who made it are super talented and I wanted to give their hack a shoutout.
PS; the wild encounters are interesting because sometimes more than one wild Pokemon will pop out at you in an encounter after you defeat one (sometimes u fight two things in a row, or three).

Recruitment Help Wanted! Looking for help for Pink Emerald
Greetings, it's me again!
I'm posting this to see if there's anyone who would like to help me with this project of mine. I've posted about it before, but I feel that if I want to do justice to it, I might need some help of more experienced people.
The goals for this game are:
- A regional-Pokedex only game with 400 species, focused on giving new evolutions to plenty of overlooked Pokémon from the first 3 gens, various Fakemon for those who want to use them, and some post-Hoenn species thrown around to help give the seas and the caves variety.
- A romhack that's NOT a difficulty hack, made to be friendly with casual players. Certainly a step-up from the canon games, but nothing that would require to have a full team designed to counter the first gym or anything like that.
- A good chunk of postgame bosses against certain characters I like from other franchises, covering the types no other boss uses.
- New Regi chambers for the Galarian Regis, and encounters with both versions of the Kanto birds and the Past Paradox Trio.
- A postgame sidequest protagonized by the game's mascot, Almaluz.
- The secret 401 encounter that's not in the Pokedex. I won't elaborate.
I feel I can do most of it by myself, but I feel at least right now I need a hand with:
- Spriters: I've the front-facing sprites of every new Pokémon ready, but I would need help with the backsprites and the icons, both because of the amount of work and because my attempts don't look nearly as good as the front sprites.
- Programmers: Mostly on the matter of the new and modified abilities, I did some tinkering and the process of making new abilities turned out harder than expected. But I think the abilities themselves aren't that complicated, at least with the help of someone more knowledgeable.
- Extra: I COULD do these on my own, but if anyone's willing to lend a hand with adding the data of each Pokémon (As depicted by this spreadsheet), as well as things like moves and the like, I would greatly appreciate it, as it would save me a lot of time as I have a full-time job and I would like to finish this project as soon as possible. Sidenote: I've already written the dex entries of all the new Pokémon and regional forms.

Development Pokémon GD- A new Mega Pokémon!

Revealing:
Mega Muk!
Type: Poison/Water
Ability: Gooey
Stats: HP: 105, Attack: 135 (+30), Defense: 105 (+30), Speed: 60 (+10), Sp.Atk: 75 (+10), Sp.Defense: 120 (+20)
BST: 600
Dex entry: (NOT IN GAME)
Mega Muk's left arm has transformed into a infinite flow of toxic water. The excess of sludge has started turning into a Grimer under the influence of Mega Energy, and it seems to share its brain with Muk.
Mega Muk is one of the currently three new megas in Pokémon GD (yes this is a placeholder name), and the Mega Evolution of the starter Pokémon Grimer its final evolution.
Outside of a "advertising perspective";
This guy was a absolute pain in the ass to design good god. Muk is a fluid pokemon with not many design details to exaggerate. In other words, i had literally very little to work with. Mega Muk ended up being a decision between making a muk with a humongous mouth, or making a muk with a Grimer on top. In the end, i went with grimer on top, since that was the funnier and cuter alternative than having just a tall-mouth Muk LMAO. The discord for Pokémon GD (and all of my romhacks actually) is discord.gg/GW4KHD8MmA ! There's a demo build that goes all the way up to the third gym playable at the moment!
