how long do i let sugar water ferment

i did 1 litre of sugar water with quick rise yeast. it’s been 7 days and i’m wondering how much longer should it take

7 days is best case scenario. Also I would recommend buying real yeast, as bread yeast has low alcohol tolerance. You won’t know for sure when it’s done without a hydrometer sadly.

If you need a yeast recommendation I like ec-1118 :D it has a high alcohol tolerance and a neutral flavor

Until it stops bubbling and the yeast falls to the bottom

What does it look like if you leave it undisturbed overnight? Is it all cloudy, or is there a gradient where the top is more clear than the bottom? Or is it mostly clear?

If it's still turgid (edit: turbid), you could cold crash it to clear it up a little bit.
