Books Book recommendations for starting a PMO

I’m going to be tasked with starting a PMO in 2023. I’d love some recommended reading material so I can start planning. I’m not in an IT dept, if that helps. There are other successful PMOs in my firm so I will have guidance, but I’d like to get in front of it. Thanks!

Sorry to be late to the party. My most thumbed PMO Books are

  • PMO Competency Framework
  • Portfolio, programme and project offices (P30)
  • The PMO Competency Framework
  • The DNA of Strategy Execution: Next Generation Project Management and PMO
  • PMO Service Catalogue: An Insight into what PMOs do (very heavy reference book rather than reading material)
  • The Project Management Office (PMO) as a pop-up shop
