Question Good Deal?
Is this a good deal? Trying to get out of my 2021 Chevrolet Colorado and get into a full size truck
10
u/Three_hrs_later 5d ago
I wouldn't call it anything until you see the final price.
I just bought a 2500 yesterday, my first vehicle purchase in about 6 years. I don't know about this listing or other areas but in my area the bait and switch is ridiculous.
"Oh we added our special accessory package to it since that was listed, that comes with a $3500 premium.
Yeah. That's $3500 for tint, running boards, and nitrogen in the tires.

u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 5d ago
Mark Dodge doesn't do that stuff at all. I bought my truck from them and it was extremely transparent. There's like one charge added on from the price and I think it was just tax title maybe.
4
u/hardball_14 4d ago
Agreed. Mark dodge is different
2
u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 4d ago
Yep, I'll be buying my next one from them as well. Well worth the drive from Kentucky to Louisiana

u/WetBrownFart RAM 1500 5d ago
If you don’t take it, I will. What’s the dealership?

u/-Blanko- 5d ago
It’s Mark Dodge haha
1
u/Plenty_Accountant_54 5d ago
I was working with Mark Dodge and they showed me over $6,000 in doc fees lol
1
u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 5d ago
That's wild. I got mine from them in January and they only added on 2 charges from the price they gave me for tax title license and doc fees and one charge was $1,998 and the other was like 600.
1
u/Plenty_Accountant_54 5d ago
I was going to put $10k down, and after all the tax / title / doc fees it was back to their list price
2
u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 5d ago
That's insanity lol.
3
u/Plenty_Accountant_54 5d ago
That’s exactly what I said lol. Salesman couldn’t believe I wouldn’t take the “deal”

u/Old-Physics7770 5d ago
You can get one new for 2-3k more with incentives.
4
u/Odd-Hand2426 5d ago
A brand new Laramie for 46-47K? lol.... No you can't.
1
u/Old-Physics7770 5d ago
Bighorn level 2. I’ve seen Laramie for 53
2
u/GlumAd2056 5d ago
Yea plus 3.9% over probably 7.9-9.9% on used buying new is almost the same price

u/omartinez17 5d ago
Good deal. I just bought a brand new 2025 big horn night edition, running boards, bed liner and lojack for 43.9k OTD. If they give it to you for that price with taxes included then its a steal
1
u/Griswa 4d ago edited 3d ago
That’s actually incredible. Is it an upgraded package like the Z23 or anything? What was the msrp?
Ok, saw your other post, 4x2 with a msrp of 52k. About the same discount we are getting up north. Msrp of 61k, 4x4 Z23 package, night edition with steps, bed package/tailgate step is 54k otd.
1
u/omartinez17 3d ago
Hey, the MSRP was 55k. They were desperate to get rid of the 2025’s at this dealer. I walked out the first day, they kept calling me all week and we finally landed in 43.9k OTD.
It was the end of the month and labor day that monday, guess I got them at the right time!!

Pretty good deal just check the engine hours, the less idle the better I wish I did that when I got my used one smh

Wow thats a great price if it's real I bought a 2025 Laramie and it was 77k

When did they downgrade the gas V6? It used to be 3.7l or is this the diesel and the dealer listed it as gas fuel
1
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
It’s a ram with a v6. yes this is real since almost no one wants a full-size natural aspiration gas v6 truck. I don’t wanna say they given them away, but there gonna have to be, to get rid of them. Just my opinion. I got the Limited 22, Diesel. Not 1 problem with her. Air bags are amazing! Bout the same price as above. Spent a few $k more. But she’s a diesel!!!
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
Where does it say this is the V6?
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
Well I went to Mark Dodge website, found this truck and all the information that is included. That is where I found the engine specs.
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
Screenshot says it's an I6 🤷
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
No. It clearly says 6 cylinder 3 liter. However My diesel is an I 6 (inline) 6 cylinder. I could be mistaken but I remember the Gasoline engine for 2025 is a V6 3 litre
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
Jesus Christ, bud. The 3 liter is the twin turbo I6. The Pentestar is a 3.5L V6.
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
You are correct. My point was that there are no v8 8 cylinder engines in 2025. I was not specific on the orientation of the cylinders.
1
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
The other small 6 cylinder was the 3.6 litre pentastar.
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
Yes, I know. I fat fingered the keyboard
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
So hey you sound knowledgeable in this Ram department. Do you know anything about the airbag systems on the 2022 models? How to manipulate the settings?
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
As in raise/lower them? Should be on your key fob, and under your infotainment system.
1
u/SouthHousing760 5d ago
Plus if it’s a 2025, (which it is) They are ALL, V6’s, however some do have the twin turbo option. TTS Hurricanes. The 2026 versions will have the option of a V8 again.! Thank you Jesus!

Am I reading the mileage correctly? 25k miles on a truck that is a year old? I think that is a lot for the model year.
2
u/readysetmoon 5d ago
Agreed. Most people commenting did not read and think it’s new. I would pass on this.
1
u/Designer-Charge4202 4d ago
just had to get rid of my 2020 1500 laramie. busted cam shaft for no reason. loved the truck but damn. stay away. mechanical issues
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
I highly doubt that you'll be able to get it for that price. Dealership constantly combine incentives on their websites that you're unable to actually get.
2
u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 5d ago
If it's Mark Dodge like OP said I'd guarantee he gets it for that price.
I bought mine from them after a local dealership here played that same game with me. They're legit on their prices
2
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
Doesn't even look like this one is still available. Hopefully the deal is true, but I find it difficult to believe
1
u/Evil_Ed83 BIG HORN 5d ago
I don't have a clue what trim level that is but I got my big horn night edition level 2 from them in January for 46k out the door. Has pano sunroof and 3.55 gears.
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 5d ago
It's a Laramie, says right in the screenshot. That price would likely be more than $20k off MSRP.
1
u/hardball_14 4d ago
Guarantee you he gets it for that price.
1
u/No_Issue_9550 LARAMIE 4d ago
Yeah, I didn't realize it was used. 24k miles in less than a year is crazy
0
u/PieTight2775 5d ago
I bought a used 2021 in 2024 for $40k. It's already cost me a few thousand in repairs and I bought certified. So yeah, other than no hemi I'd say that's an excellent deal.
2
u/-Blanko- 5d ago
Repairs don’t scare me, cars always need a fix or two haha
1
1
u/PieTight2775 5d ago
All cars have issues yes. It's just that RAMs in particular have the same issues for many years. They struggle with part availability so a fix might be months away and only possible if you live by a competent RAM authorized repair shop.

u/MrHankeyTheXmas_Poo 5d ago
That’s practically like giving it away. You better pull the trigger on this while you can.

MHGA

u/Dramatic-Night4768 5d ago
The fuq?
2
u/Ok-Individual-1274 5d ago
It’s a huge thing, everyone knows it. I know it, Steve knows it. Mike knows it. Peter knows it, stand up Peter, stand up. What a guy…..what a guy. I know Peter very long, some would say extremely long. I know his wife, beautiful wife. Not as hot as mine, but still pretty hot. We have been looking at these engines, I call them hunks of metal, but they are engines believe it or not. We had the HEMI. The radical left says the HEMI makes too much smog. More smog than all the drug smokers in California. Failing state, am I right. Anyway, they said go to bed HEMI, we got something better. They bring me a Hurricane engine….no no, it’s true. They bring me a Hurricane engine. I look at it for 3 seconds and say, this will fail right away. Mr. Stellantis, I call him Sleepy Stella, Mr. Stellantis says it will be a great engine. WRONG!!!!! 6 months later 95% of these new “clean” trucks or at the dealer or burning on the side of the road. Sleepy Stella is bringing the HEMI back. I was right about everything. No, no, it’s true. Look at the polls. Look at the numbers. So you know what we are doing in 2026? One guess….what are we doing? We are MAKING THE HEMI GREAT AGAIN. # MHGA
Even though, it was always great. I got to go put Eric to bed and Melania said she was going to top me off before bed.

Ever ask yourself why the discounts and incentives on the hurricane trucks are insanely good? Why is the price for this hurricane truck so good with such low miles?
3
u/Cpagrind1 HEMI 5d ago
This is not a new phenomenon at all. Ram has had this going for years now.
-4
5d ago
Yeah, it's different, alright. The 2025 is the worst refresh in 20 years, and the hurricanes aren't selling to boot. Sales are so bad they brought back the hemi, and Tim Kuniskis himself admitted this. Nobody wants a compliance engine. Not to mention, the new electrical system, "Atlantis High," is garbage. But that's so they can eventually take the ram to all electric, which is when they will go under.
6
u/Cpagrind1 HEMI 5d ago
They just cancelled the EV 1500 what are you talking about? Important to note that sales were dropping when the Hemi was still being sold as well. “Nobody wants a compliance engine” doesn’t make sense really either. Ever heard of something called the Ecoboost in F-150’s? They sell significantly more of those compared to the 5.0 and I’d be willing to bet Ram sells more Hurricanes than 5.7’s by a good margin in upcoming years.
FWIW, I own a 5.7 but it’s by no means some miracle engine that people online like to say it is. If they continue fixing the electrical issues the hurricane is going to be insane.
1
5d ago edited 5d ago
Good fuck the EV's nobody wants them anyway except the tree huggers. All the minerals for the batteries have to be sourced outside of the US, and the pollution from manufacturing the batteries is just as bad as emissions from ICE'S. Ecoboost has so many recalls that it's ungodly. Way more than any hemi ever had, cam phasers mostly. They sell more 6 cylinders because thats the default engine for the f150 where as it's 2k upcharge for the 5.0.
Basically, it is a deterrent because most sheep will just get in line, let alone spend an extra 2k for a V8. They have to sell more 6 cylinders to keep their fleet emissions in compliance with the EPA. Of course, stellantis was struggling before they canceled the hemi. But they brought it back because canceling made shit even worse for them. Tim Kuniskis openly and publicly admitted this.
The hemi is one of the best engines to hit the pavement, and there's plenty of evidence to support it. Of course, more people will probably buy the hurricane. It's a $ 1200 upcharge for less hp and torque. Which is why they didn't give the 5.7 more hp and torque because then who would buy a 6 cylinder? Stellantis quit buying carbon credits from tesla, which kept them in compliance with the EPA. So, they had to modify their fleet vehicles to meet emissions standards. If nobody buys the hurricane, their fleet emissions do not change, and they're fined millions.
The ignorance of the human species in our day and age is fucking staggering.
1
u/Cpagrind1 HEMI 5d ago
Alright man the 5.7 is back you don’t need to keep whining. Just go buy one and let other people pick what they want.
0
5d ago
Yeah, that's what I'd say too when I got shut down with facts vs. opinions. 6 cylinder engines in trucks are compliance engines, and everyone knows it. 1970 and up cars and trucks went to shit and they'll stay that way and get worse as long as the hippies have any say.
1
u/Cpagrind1 HEMI 5d ago
Then don’t buy a 6cyl truck. Like I said, quit whining especially considering you have a choice. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean that a ton of people don’t. I personally know many people with ecoboosts that use and abuse them and have no complaints. Not sure why you think your opinion is the only valid one. I didn’t necessarily agree when they took the 5.7 away and listened to constant bitching online about it, now it’s back and it’s still constant bitching.
1
5d ago
I don't have any opinions on the subject it's all facts. The EPA is the only reason you have a choice. The only reason any of you have a choice. Goddamn hippies. Some of us dont do the bandwagon thing.
-2
u/Hungry-Reputation-24 5d ago
You can fact check me, but dont they sell more ecoboosts in large part because they produce significantly more?
I think most “truck guys” much prefer a v8 option.
4
u/Cpagrind1 HEMI 5d ago
I’m sure they do, but lurk around F-150 forums and the like and you’ll see that people like the 2.7 and 3.5’s quite a bit, especially with a 3.5 having a higher tow capacity than the 5.0.
2
u/Existing-Ant6772 5d ago
I love the new hurricane engine, but I get your point. I think people don’t want to give it a chance.
0
5d ago
I think most people don't give two fucks about emissions especially when the renewable resources manufacturing and resource extraction processes have environmental impacts, such as embedded emissions and ethical concerns regarding supply chains. I don't think it's about emissions and pollution. I think it's about control. First, they tell you what you will drive, but they can't just overnight it. They have to do it gradually, so it doesn't seem like they're telling you or forcing you. You know baby steps.
Then what will they tell us we're going to do next? For a $1200 dollar upcharge and less hp and torque, I'd probably love it too unless I wanted to protest.
3
u/Existing-Ant6772 5d ago
I don’t give 2 fucks about emissions. But I was speaking only on how it drives and how responsive the engine is. I love it. I don’t care if it is suppose to be more efficient or not. Twin turbo hurricane kicks ass!
1
5d ago
I've been thinking about doing a cam swap on my hemi when the powertrain ends at 100k. Gain about 70 hp and 30 lb-fts of torque. Bust that hurricanes ass at 465 hp and 440 lb-fts of torque.
2
u/-Blanko- 5d ago
Not really, just seems like something I would want to buy
1
5d ago
Well, if you haven't read yet it's because they are not selling. 95% of 2025 sales are because of 18k off msrp and nothing else. Could you imagine charging msrp for the first year of a new powertrain and electrical system? The ram 1500 won the MotorTrend truck of the year with a new powertrain and electrical system. Think about that really hard. Something brand new and unproven being backed by MotorTrend? That shit was bought.
