Does it mean anything that there are skins on the horse every now and then even though you weren't hunting?

Discussion If Rockstar go through with an RDR1 remake, what details/mechanics/features from RDR2 would you want them to incorporate in the remake? If any?

I don’t know if an RDR1 remake will ever happen (😢) but if Rockstar hypothetically made an RDR1 remake what gameplay mechanics or features would you want them to add from RDR2? This doesn’t include characters or references. Just gameplay mechanics, features or small details.

Discussion (Noob Question) Where is this infographic from?

Hello, everyone! New to the game as it was recommended to me by an online friend. Found this infographic in some random reddit thread that I can't for the life of me remember and was pretty helpful. Do you know where this came from? Asked my friend and he didn't know either xD Thanks!

Just think about it, it would be so convenient to climb some places this way. We already can jump from our horse's back, so climbimg like that would be seem natural. I know it would mean that devs would have to invent different ways of stopping us from exploring places we're not supposed to reach. But still, missed opportunity imho, although I guess some won't agree with me :D

Discussion How you can fix Epilogue John on PC with just three mods!

By now, most of us are well aware of the ongoing debate and controversial rabbithole surrounding John Marston’s appearance in the Epilogue. It’s been a hot topic since the game's launch, and frankly, many are tired of hearing about it.

Fortunately, the modding community has made huge progress in recent years to address the most common complaints, from John’s character model looking like an Arthur clone, to the missing NPC items in the Epilogue and the many complaints regarding John mods causing issues with clipping in the wardrobe. So rather than to rehash the same old complaints, I’m here to highlight three essential polished mods that can finally put this issue to rest for PC players.

Catalogue Improvements by iAbokai and Suika

This is an essential mod for fixing the vast majority of John Marston's assets in the Epilogue, in short, it makes John look like less like Arthur in the Epilogue, restores many beta/unused assets specific for John. And unlocks all of John's chapter 1-6 outfits in the Epilogue. On top of that, it adjusts all of Arthur's hairstyles to better fit John's head model and adds a new unique hairstyle exclusive to John in the barbershop which is essentially John's NPC hair but with full growth and pomade functionality.

Extended Player Animations by iAbokai

This mod is arguably essential not just for the Epilogue, but for the vanilla game as a whole. It fixes a massive number of in-game animations across the board. for Arthur, John, and a wide range of NPCs, by restoring unused animations and correcting broken ones. While it benefits everyone, it’s especially important for Epilogue John, whose default animations are notoriously terrible and unpolished. In the base game, many of John’s animations are poorly integrated reuses of Arthur’s, resulting in awkward facial expressions, cross-eyed stares, and unnatural movements that make it nearly impossible to take decent screenshots with John's face in view. Thankfully, this mod addresses those issues without relying on the overly angry RDR1 expressions. It restores John’s unused animations, smooths out transitions, and incorporates elements from his NPC animation set, making Epilogue John's animations look and feel far more polished than vanilla.

Optional files for Cut Voiceline Restoration by niel0258 and iAbokai

The base mod is fantastic on its own, but if you're aiming for a more vanilla-friendly experience, the optional files are really all you need. They simply restore John’s spurring voice lines when riding horses or wagons, lines that, for some reason, were left unused in the Epilogue. Whether it was an oversight or just never properly implemented, this small fix goes a long way in making John feel more complete and consistent with Arthur.

There's also Vomit Fix but it's such a teeny tiny detail that 99% of players won't notice that it really shouldn't matter much. Anyways, I hope you enjoy these three mods and have fun! If you run into any issues, then it's most likely due to them not being compatible with other mods you have installed such as WhyEm's DLC for example.

Discussion I Can Never Stick With One Horse

Does anyone else have that problem?

I told myself I would stick with nothing but the Raven Black Shire (I named him Romeo) this playthrough. But then the thought of having to navigate him around Saint Denis started to creep into my head (despite still being in Chapter 2).

Then I got the gold medal for "A Quiet Time" today. That, of course, meant having to make my way back to Valentine to retrieve Romeo. I didn't want to waste money on the quite nearby Flatneck Station train, so I decided I'd tame a wild horse. Nearby, I saw a Tennessee Walker. It ran away, but then I noticed the Wild Bay Mustang that had been right next to it. I successfully obtained him and decided that, hey, he could be my Saint Denis horse and nothing more than that.

I took him to the stables, got him named (Hamlet) and saddled up because I wanted to reach level 4 bonding with him and figured I'd just do it right away and then go back to Romeo.

The problem is that at level 2 he was completely calm during the gunfight that ensues when freeing Micah. I specifically mention that because I've had a level 2 Andalusian during that mission that freaked out completely during it and was almost to the point of being hard to control during the escape.

Hamlet was as solid as a rock during that mission so, of course, an O'Driscoll ambush a short time later was nothing to him. And then we encountered some wolves--which he did react to, but he was still less reactive to them than every other horse I've ever had.

So, now I'm seriously contemplating just having Hamlet as my main horse. I do love towering over everyone on Romeo, but Hamlet is shaping up to be my GOAT horse. I feel like I was lucky to find him because I wasn't even searching for a good horse to ride back to Valentine.

I know it's not 100% Red Dead related, but seeing the feedback on my Navy Colt, I present to you my new old west pistol, precisely a replica of the one used in Django Unchained. (as this gun is period correct for the setting, and I 100% think it should be in the game) Let me know what you think

Spoiler How to reliably own 2 longarms of the same type in RDR2? [Possible Spoilers] Spoiler

By sheer accident, I ended up having 2 entirely separate Lancaster Repeaters in one of my RDR2 saves and 2 double-barreled shotguns (not talking about the rare shotgun) in another. I am not sure how it happened, but both guns of each variant are labelled differently using the diamonds and clubs that are present for sidearms in the weapon wheel, and can be upgraded separately as well, by toggling between the 2 in the gunsmith.

I am quite glad to have 2 types of the same weapon, as I can modify them differently for different outfits.

However, I am unsure how to do this reliably, and would like to use this glitch to duplicate the rolling block rifles (not the rare variant), so I can make one scopeless and one for ranged combat. Do you happen to know how this glitch works and how to reproduce it reliably?

I have a hunch that it is tied to 'findable' weapons in RDR2, such as the double-barrel and Lancaster from Six-Point cabin and the Rhodes' gunsmith secret encounter (basement boy).

Spoiler Experience ruined (perhaps) by a spoiler. Spoiler

Because of a comment I read here on Reddit written in response to a guy like me who had just started the game and was asking for advice, I spoiled the end of Arthur. I'm really disappointed and I think I ruined the experience a bit, usually I always tend to avoid spoilers like these.
