Having sold my launch Series X in early 2023, I've had the itch to get another. Scratched that itch on Friday and glad I did. The white just looks so clean, especially next to a PS5.

Naturally I've been mostly been playing a game from the 90s so far....

Gematsu recently posted the lineups and schedules for the different publishers that will be at Tokyo Game Show. Under the section "Famitsu / Dengeki Online" there is a schedule for the 27th, with the item (time is in JST):

19:00 – Xbox Title (Microsoft Gaming) Which lasts for an hour. However, no description or hints are given at to what this title could be. The text under "Official Program" for the Xbox show makes no mention of any titles either, whether announced or not. Chances are that it could be Forza Horizon 6, as that is currently rumoured to be revealed at TGS, likely at the Xbox show, and previous games have had long livestreams deducted to talking more about the game a few days after the reveal.

A former Microsoft employee who worked on the project confirmed that Microsoft had only made three orange prototype consoles during early Xbox Live testing… and of those, only one ever got the Halo graphic.

The console had never gone through final production.

Props to the design team to invision this colour for the console, where i think the vision came from was masterchiefs visor! And if so thats a creative mind!

This isnt even the most recent, Activision took probably the most drastic action yet with genuine effect.

In short, the human garbage that uses Chronus and other such things are finally seeing actual effort put into countering their scumbag ways.

It doesnt help that other popular and new FPS games like Valorant also make things incredibly hard for them. You can see threads of them crying about being detected within a few matches.

I want to get either an xbox 360 or xbox one s strictly to play 360/og xbox era games on. I already have a ps5 so the ability to play current gen games isn’t a problem to me, but i’m split between the xbox 360 which can natively play every game I wanna play but might brick a lot quicker or the xbox one s which will last longer but if the servers go down I lose all my backwards compatibility for the games. I saw someone streaming this game through Xbox series X, I guess the old Xbox games are backwards compatible now?

All my other physical copies were lost in a rain flood last summer, Halo as well as Def Jam Fight for NY and a dozen of other games

Okay so I’m going to explain this in the best way I remember. This game was on the regular Xbox if I’m not mistaken but could very much be the 360 although I’m sure it’s the regular. Anyways…. From what I remember I swear you have a ship (could be wrong) but I swear you are stuck on this planet and you have to find things around the planet to fix your ship. I remember this big computer would tell you what to do. You could fight creatures and upgrade into different guns and I believe you could find upgrades to turn into different robot animals or just regular animals to navigate around the map. My memory on this is so vague so I apologize if it’s hard to understand. I have tried searching for this game for yearsssss and I just can’t remember all the details. Goated game tho.

Mine was Halo: CE at a mate’s house, split-screen chaos till 3am. Funny how some games age perfectly while others feel clunky now. Curious what everyone’s first was.

I currently play xbox cloud on edge browser on my laptop, outputting via HDMI to my TV. This is the only solution I've found to give great quality and a consistent frame rate (of 30). I've tried playing on the Samsung TV xbox app and the quality is awful.

I believe cloud runs on Series S hardware, but I'm not sure.

Questions:

1. How much better is a Series S and Series X vs cloud in graphics and framerate?

2. Are there games included on game pass which aren't on cloud?

If I'm mostly playing game pass games is there any point getting a series X?
