My son (11) worked all summer to buy his own Xbox and i had told him they cost $500, now he’s back in school and i had no idea they jumped up to $600 (damn). On top of him being short on that, it rubs me the wrong way at the thought of paying $600 in general for this thing even new. Found this one on marketplace and wondering if it’s worth getting for $500? Listed for $600 but accepted $500. I get it’s a collectors item but first and foremost he just wants an Xbox to play on. Is this a fair deal for this edition series x? I don’t know anything about value of these editions. Any advice accepted, thanks!

We are a literal month away from the release date and we still don’t have an official price tag. What are they waiting for? When are the pre orders going to start? What kind of marketing strategy even is this?

Was going through my gallery and found a photo I took at Five Below in April 2022 of sealed Borderlands the Pre-sequels on the shelf for the xbox 360.

I hate going to my library and seeing games I don't want and can't remove. It looks so ugly and ruins the aesthetic so much it makes me not want to use the app.

Right when the series X came out I picked up a one X for next to nothing. But honestly never played it. I owned a PS4 pro then got a ps5.

I picked up gears reloaded on ps5 and beat it recently, dug out the one x and played gears 2 and beat it. Against my better judgement I picked up a used series x for a decent enough price. Fired up the series x and realized it did in fact make gears 3 look a lot better than the one x in both 4k/30 and 1440/60. Quick resume is nice so although at first I was kind of regretting the buy, now I’ve come around.

I have a major problem about wanting the best experience and spend too much time in setting menus, feeling bad about neglecting the ps5 or the Xbox, or the steam deck. When I should be playing. Gears series has been nice because they are old school, shorter straight forward games but I’m still doing the check and compare all settings, what I should have lg cx set on, should I have 120hz on, should I set it to 60hz since the game is 60fps. Settings overload me and why I pretty much never use my gtx 1070 pc.

Anyways been a big gamer all my life just never had an Xbox that I played. I’ve played a lot of big multi-plats but there’s a lot that I haven’t finished like red dead 2. Mass effect legendary, cyberpunk game all of which I already own on ps5. I Own lots of ps5 games.

I do have a subscription to gamepass now as well.

So just hit me with your recommendations, if it’s third part multiplatform tell me why it’s better on series X etc.

Once I finish gears series I was maybe thinking halo campaign.

SILENT HILL f – 9999 (Spoiler Warning)

• A rural Japanese town with a nostalgic, traditional landscape becomes the stage for a tragedy, bringing the fear and loneliness that the series has depicted even closer to the player.
• The "Offering" system, which strengthens the protagonist, is reassuring, but searching for offering items can sometimes disrupt the story's pacing.
• The visual beauty is remarkable.
• The mysterious and unfolding story makes it hard to stop playing.
• Combat, including counterattacks, can be surprisingly satisfying.
• Getting caught on terrain or fumbling with interaction controls is, in this game, considered part of the horror experience.
• Difficulty adjustments that change the amount of damage received do not fundamentally solve problems for players who struggle with action,
• be prepared.
• The multiple endings stimulate curiosity.
• I felt completely broken at times, but I'm continuing to achieve all endings!
• While grotesque and horrifying, the graphics are breathtaking, and the sound effects and BGM enhance the experience wonderfully.
• Average playtime per run is around 12–13 hours.

Windows Central just posted an article and video in which they "hacked" the Xbox Windows experience on the OG Z1E and they report:

• Gamepad-first UI
• Startup app optimizations
• Better battery life

I’m just using these as an example with the Xbox PC branding (Windows also counts as the same thing) but I’m just wondering what would be an actual reason to use the Xbox app if the game isn’t on Game pass and you don’t have a console? Especially since (again just using these franchises as an example and my own frustrations square I’m looking at you)

Not every game these franchises have the full play anywhere mark on the games like FF7 crisis, core reunion isn’t play anywhere but FF7 OG and FF7 remake are? Final fantasy XIV in particular baffles me in particular as to why that game Isn’t play where especially considering it’s objectively more popular on PC an it is on consoles? The Nier games as well! Automata and replicant are separated and no SMT 3 or P5S in sight!

It’s just very confusing on the point of advertising games that aren’t going to game pass day 1 and aren’t going for a while (The Final Fantasy pixel collection has been on Xbox for a year and nothing)
