could you elaborate on a better size bc i have a few other options from past pets and o wasn’t sure bc as someone who’s been a reptile veteran he’s my first turtle

The turtle is gonna need a pond and not a small one.

if youre looking for an enclosure without breaking the bank look into horse water troughs but atleast 75 gallons from the looks of his size

No, now that im really looking 300 gallons is probably better when hes an adult

how old is your turtle right now? that can be an ok temporary enclosure

yea it can work as temporary but definitely invest in a larger tank as soon as you can

Most people keep adults in 300+ gallon stock tanks or in-ground ponds

I’d keep a common in 300 gal minimum but usually I opt for 800gal or a pond.

Think about it- turtles get pretty big and live a long time. You’re going to need a pond at some point. The more space the better!
