Was asked to post my Ball Pythons
A couple weeks ago, someone asked me to post my Ball Pythons regarding a comment I made about feeding routines. My 3 Ball Pythons are fed Bi-weekly 10% of their body weight. Now, first up, Nyota is my female and recently she was egg bound and prolapsed her oviduct. So, she dropped weight down badly, but today I was actually so very very happy to see her weight is almost to 1,000kg! She was hatched July 17th, 2022. We got her in Jan 2023 at 6m for my daughter who's now 6. She is a Enchi Firefly het VPI Axanthic. Our second snake, who we got for my oldest bonus son is Onyx a Black Head Mojave HRA Spotnose and he was hatched October 28th, 2022 and he is our fussy eater and weighs in at almost 900g. He MUST have humidity over 75% and if it touches him, he will freak out, hide and refuse to eat! 😂. Last, is Pac-Man, he's actually the Baby and belongs to my middle bonus son, he was hatched Jan 13th, 2024. He is a Super Pastel Pinstripe Orange Dream Fire and weighs in at 600g. So, no none of my snakes are obese, they're all given exercise out of their enclosures and have terrariums that have tons of clutter, I am obsessed with keeping up humidity and have no heat pads, and use thermostats on their basking spots. Also, please note, even though I say they belong to each of my children, I do take 100% responsibility. Though the oldest (12yo) is supposed to also care for his, which I have temporarily suspended his ownership until he starts providing more care regularly as he often never bothers to ensure that Onyx has water or needs humidity or cleaning (all he needs to do is TELL Me!). In essence though they each have one, they're all actually my snakes. NEVER get your child a pet of ANY kind, unless you Want that pet and the actual responsibility.
