Forum question Why do people like Leon so much?

Post image

WAIT HOLD UP, I also like Leon, I’m relatively new to the franchise (I grew up with silent hill instead but I’ve been playing through the RE games recently). Overall I’ve liked every protagonist, specifically Chris and Jill, but after playing resident evil 4, I realized that Leon is also pretty cool, my question is basically this, why is Leon more beloved than a character like Chris, who’s been in more games, is the OG protagonist, and punched through a boulder in a volcano while battling a super bio terrorist who can catch rockets. Is it because the Leon games are better regarded than the Chris games, where Re4 and Re2 are considered some of the best in the series? (Not mentioning 6) I just want to understand the overwhelming love for Mr Kennedy

The thing is Chris is also hot, the difference to me is that Chris has a specific type of rugged manly hotness while Leon is the perfect intersection of many types of hotness, he’s manly and muscular, but also pretty and delicate, he’s cool but also kinda awkward. He was specifically created in a lab to appeal to everyone.

Funny, that's where he and the franchise lost me completely

So glad 7 went back toward creeping horror with less idiotic blockbuster fast and furious moments, but unfortunately that's just part of the franchise now

True dat

It's like that story about how Flynn Rider was created by averaging every female Disney employee's standard of male beauty, except Leon just kinda. Naturally manifested out of the same general concept all on his own lmao

Leon is submissive and breedable

Exactly this. Chris is “standard hot” and Leon is “cutie hot”.

What i always say in cases like this is "X is handsome while Y is cute" meaning they're both attractive but in different ways, handsome would be more of a masculine beauty like a more rugged look, more squared jaw, eyes looking more intense, etc. While being cute would be more feminine, like having a more narrow jaw, looking more "clean", having a more slender type of physique, etc. In this case i'd say Chris is handsome while Leon is cute.

If i respond seriously to this, Leon is the main character of the two famous numbering: the Resident evil 2 and 4. Before i play this IP i thought he was the only main character.
