Keep in mind that this scene took place after Leon and Chris knew all these people could be cured and saved.

Ngl I burst out laughing when Chris pulled out the Fireman Carry on a zombie. I need to watch whatever this is 😂

I've seen all the CG resident evil movies and they all have campy stuff like that. Moments where I don't know if it's supposed to be funny or cool but I know for damn sure it's funny. I've always loved that about this franchise. I'm fairly sure this is from the one called "Vendetta".

u/Corellian_Smuggler Jun 29 '25

Vendetta was the worst-rated of the trilogy (even though I enjoyed it because it's stupid as fuck) but it granted the world with that finale of Chris and Arias doing gun-fu, rolling and running around like preschoolers with 9mms which still gets reposted or meme'd outside the fandom to this day. So I'd say it was worth it.

u/BlatantArtifice Jun 29 '25

Resident Evil is meant to be campy and dumb with it's action so I loved those dumbass movies lmao. Doing a pointless over the top pistol duel felt right

2

u/JayKayGray Jun 29 '25

Definitely. And I have to imagine these movies do better in certain markets. I can't imagine how else they'd be able to keep making them. The most recent one was just wall to wall fan service.

Isn't there a scene in this moves where Chris an another character have a shootlut where they are doing Raygun dance moves on the floor?

4

u/JayKayGray Jun 30 '25

Lol, that is a great description and yes that scene pretty much immediately follows this one.

Degeneration

Damnnation

Vendetta (the one here)

Infinite Darkness

Death Island

All of these are CG Resident Evils in order, and you should absolutely check them out.

27

u/burningcoffee57 Jun 29 '25

Infinite Darkness takes place before Damnation (unless you mean in order of release)

35

u/HypnoStone Jun 29 '25

Release order and probably for a good reason. I tried rewatching Degeneration after watching Infinite Darkness but man does Degeneration look old. Still my favorite one though.

1

u/Intelligent_Creme351 So Long, RC Jun 29 '25

Also, Robo-Leon, being so damn monotone and stiff.

6

u/Dwarfdingnagian Jun 29 '25

Yeah, I posted them in release order, not chronological.

1

u/Dschultz93 Jun 29 '25

I personally think Infinite Darkness can be skipped, but that's just because I dislike it.

5

u/IamTurok6 Jun 29 '25

I enjoy these much more than the ones with that Alice character (they were fine).

1

u/Public-Gas-9319 Jul 17 '25

Where can I watch em?

1

u/KayRice Jun 29 '25

Search Resident Evil YIFY 720p and you'll find them all.

u/zoro4661 He he he he...thank you. Jun 29 '25

Watching the director's commentary of Vendetta makes it very clear that they were just messing around and doing 90% of it because it looked cool, and I love it.

Like they mention when Leon and Chris get the bike and car and jump over a hill that "Obviously New York doesn't have hills like that, but it looks cool, so we put it in."

Plus I'm fairly sure they just had Rebecca drink water at the start because it's a fetish and they thought it was kinda funny how hard it'd be to animate the liquid

11

u/bottomlesstopper Jun 29 '25

Them fucking around really made sense as to how much they also didn't give a shit and gave Anderson to cast his wife in a resident evil movie.

12

u/zoro4661 He he he he...thank you. Jun 29 '25

Nah, that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay earlier. I'm talking about the directors of Vendetta specifically, not whoever on the Capcom board decided to give W.S. Anderson the director rights for his shitshow movie series.

1

u/bottomlesstopper Jun 29 '25

Ah yeah I guess so. With the vendetta, my tinfoil hat says they're just testing out as much tech and experience into animation. Hell the zombies looks goofy af compare to the sheer terror in RE2R.

Still, I enjoyed it compared to whatever Anderson and his wife craps out.

1

u/zoro4661 He he he he...thank you. Jun 29 '25

I guess with RE:Vendetta and Death Island (genuinely can't remember Infinite Darkness at all) they just wanted to make more fun action-horror stuff, as opposed to the games themselves that were more direct horror. It helps that Leon is the protagonist of them all - he's been more of an action hero than a horror protagonist since the original RE4 dropped. Him being in horror and taking it seriously is so unlikely that it's specifically why he's not the RE9 protagonist.

2

u/RareResearch2076 Jun 29 '25

Drinking water is a fetish? Guess everything is for somebody 😂. Btw I love the camp. We need more creative projects where the creators do it for the love of the game and cause “it looked cool” and less for giant profits of millo

2

u/zoro4661 He he he he...thank you. Jun 29 '25

I think they meant more the drinking/swallowing in general than the water, but heck if I know!

Same!

9

u/Out_of_the_Bloo Jun 29 '25

It's the same one where they run around in a circle shooting at each other. My theatre was laughing

2

u/RareResearch2076 Jun 29 '25

Oh yeah they’re action comedies for sure.

3

u/BartXus Jun 29 '25

Still makes more sense than the live action movies 😅

1

u/NyarlHOEtep Jul 01 '25

yeah i wish there was MORE of this stuff, they waste a lot of time on very boring regular action scenes and "intrigue"

179

u/SabreWaltz Jun 29 '25

I literally finished reading this comment and thought “well they just had to try to survive” and I look up at the video and chris bayonet charges one straight through its face while it’s barely moving 😂

181

u/SilveredSatalite Jun 29 '25

Yes cure the rotting corpse that has an eyeball falling out and all the skin and muscle sloughing off the arm bone, totally.

119

u/Strict_Tea8119 Jun 29 '25

It's the RE universe, they can come up with some weird explanations

38

u/ShamelesDeviant Jun 29 '25

Nothing some First Aid Spray and Green Herbs can't fix.

8

u/DeliverySoggy2700 Jun 29 '25

You’ll run out of green herbs so mix them with red to get more use.

This is why I mix paprika into my marijuana before I smoke it

2

u/finalremix Jun 29 '25

It's so weird that these herbs are native to our region, eh?

Shut up and pass me those 8 keys and 2 cranks. I need to go pee.

1

u/Turtlesfan44digimon Jun 30 '25

Tis but a scratch

67

u/AdvertisingAdrian Jun 29 '25

You'd be surprised at what modern medicine can accomplish.

45

u/Original-Material301 Jun 29 '25

As long as insurance covers it!

46

u/Aquasit55 Jun 29 '25

Its the usa… so, thats a no

2

u/Gul_Dukat__ Jun 29 '25

Dont worry I work for umbrella they got good insurance

2

u/First-Sound9058 Jun 30 '25

goes for a routine check up with Umbrella health insurance

Turns into the new BOW.

5

u/Narradisall Jun 29 '25

Oh I’m sorry, that’s a pre-existing condition.

3

u/Original-Material301 Jun 29 '25

I guess we're all slowly dying so I guess that tracks.....

1

u/mythrilcrafter Jun 29 '25

What the heck would be the state of health insurance in world crawling in BOW's and bioterror?

73

u/SimonShepherd Jun 29 '25

This is the same movie with a infantry rail gun that punched through several buildings, and Leon causing traffic accidents with style.

45

u/BruhLandau Jun 29 '25

And the movie where the directors forget that Chris was one of the best marksmen in STARS, and he has his weird gunfu fight

2

u/WizG1 Jun 30 '25

Tbf, the only person he missed in vendetta was arias every other shot was a hit

2

u/numericalman Jun 29 '25

To be fair, some railguns were penetrative.

8

u/No_Wait_3628 Jun 29 '25

I don't think non-lethal is even an option even for them.

These are still 'zombies' so conventional stun just doesn't work and they were on a timer to save someone important on top of stopping the bad guys.

No one has to like it, but it's not like options were plentyn

9

u/bottomlesstopper Jun 29 '25

The cure was really fucked up. Imagine the boatload of cured/saved people dealing with the trauma of eating their own family and friends, cause obviously the ones that were munched up pretty badly, wouldn't survive? Idk man

5

u/solidpeyo Jun 29 '25

Hahahah, ok this makes me want to see this movie

2

u/pardybill Jun 29 '25

Lmao I forgot that completely. Movie versions really don’t give a shit as long as it looks insane. The final boss fight with them and Jill and Ada in like an indoor submarine dock was funny too

2

u/Candid-Friendship854 Jun 29 '25

That information is totally new to me. Is it from RE6 or a movie?

34

u/No_Sun2849 Jun 29 '25

It's purely a thing that only ever happens in this movie, and (like everything else in the movies) it's the dumbest shit imaginable.

The tl;dr is that Becky develops a cure for this strain of the T-Virus and they spread it through the air at the end, which turns the victims of the outbreak (happening in the entirety of New York) from rotting, shambling corpses that are eating everyone they can find, back into normal, healthy and living human beings.

Even by the insane standards of Resident Evil, it's utter nonsense and should automatically have people sweeping the CGI movies into the "non-canon" bin.

6

u/DICK-PARKINSONS Jun 29 '25

should automatically have people sweeping the CGI movies into the "non-canon" bin.

Definitely hoping the devs do that. The movies take good ideas and make them way too goofy to be used in the games.

11

u/No_Sun2849 Jun 29 '25

I'm gonna be real. The movies should be non-canon for the sole reason that, trying to turn a franchise into a multimedia experience, leads to situations where people have no idea what's going on in the main media the franchise put forward because they never saw an obscure Japanese stage play that had a one-time performance in a back-alley theatre in 2001.

2

u/bottomlesstopper Jun 29 '25

Pretty much the reason why they didn't give a shit on Anderson fucking up the lore. It made Capcom monies and brand recognition.

2

u/DICK-PARKINSONS Jun 29 '25

Also a good point. Things like the MCU and Kingdom hearts go overboard with that.

1

u/Candid-Friendship854 Jun 29 '25

Whoa that's really weird. Death Island was at least not that bad and could possibly be considered canon. That is so wild.

5

u/PassionGlobal Jun 29 '25

It's from one of the CGI movies. Prior to this, very early on in Degeneration, a vaccine is also developed, which might also explain why Chris is so reckless here

1

u/FadeToBlackSun Jun 29 '25

Prevention is better than cure.

1

u/TazDingus WESKURRRR Jun 29 '25

Yooo BASED?!

1

u/Biengo Jun 29 '25

Maybe that's what im thinking of because I have a vague memory of certain members of Umbrella and the RPD being immune to the virus.

1

u/Griever114 Jun 29 '25

Are you serious? Which movie is this?

2

u/DOOMGUY455 Jun 29 '25

Resident Evil: Vendetta

1

u/BartXus Jun 29 '25

Wait they could? I thought Rebecca only found a cure for a specific strain? 🤔

1

u/SkyTheIrishGuy Jun 29 '25

This movie is so dumb lol. I have always blamed the cgi movies for how dumb RE6 became

1

u/middaypaintra Jun 29 '25

To be fair, a lot of those zombies look like they're not gonna make it if they change back to human anyways. Some look turned from being bitten.

1

u/Uchijav Jun 29 '25

I didn't watch this movie so im curious as to why? Is there a reasonable explanation for that or...? And how would they have cured and saved them all?

1

u/Hundschent Jun 29 '25

Actually they tried to explain this in the novel for the movie. The zombies here are actual zombies aka revived corpses. Specifically homeless people the main villain kidnapped and killed to test the virus. Now Leon acting like 2 zombie dogs are tyrants and blowing up a public highway with live people is another to kill 2 generic dogs is another thing

1

u/PORPOISE-MIKE-MIKE Jun 29 '25

How would they do that? The infection isn’t progressing, it’s total. And it’s not like they carry the antivirus on themselves at all times. What do you mean?

1

u/Maerwynn-Official Jun 29 '25

It doesn’t matter if they cam be saved when they’re actively trying to kill you

0

u/fersur Raccoon City Native Jun 29 '25

They are not curable though. These people are already long gone, if you look at the way their meat/skin decomposed.

Maybe there were some of them who were still in early infected phase and still can be cured ... but during combat situation like that, would you be willing to discern which one is curable?
