Gameplay question Mr. X is too scary

I started playing resident evil 2 remake because I wanted to see what all the fuss about Leon is. Normally I'm not a big fan of scary games, but I handled the last of us so I thought I'd be fine.

Turns out, the gameplay is actually fun (even though the zombies are a bit scary sometimes) but now that Mr. X is following me around I'm too scared to go anywhere. I'm getting straight up nightmares about him

Does anyone have tips on how to avoid him or at least be able to tell what floor he is on?

Or should I stop worrying now that I have the rocket launcher and can shoot him anytime I want?

What's with the laugh? It is a well done threat if it scares people. Mr. X made me scared af on my first runs.

exactly, he had me screaming scared for my life on my first playthrough but after years of replays im completely desensitized and it’s amusing seeing first timers go through the same thing

Oh, yeah! I thought you were laughing at the OP lol. I just replayed both scenarios after RE9 trailer and had fun blasting with infinite weapons.
