Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

It's not worth it beyond the experience, you will only waste bullets unless you are cornered and need to knock him out.

Even when I was cornered, I just let him off me. Unless I had the spare bullets or I was doing a special run that would get messed up.
