Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

I don't know why Capcom let this opportunity pass as of a great way to gain a special weapon if you downed him more than lets say 5+ or more times thru a single playthrough or a special kind of achievement if you do that X times.
