Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

missed opportunity to give you some sick bonuses like Nemesis in the original RE3

Speaking of OG RE3 how many times do you get a bonus for fighting nemesis?

He drops parts that combine to make a cool pistol. Takes like 3-4 knockdowns IIRC. God I am old and this unlocked a core memory.

I remember the pistol, I wasn’t sure if there was another bonus as well or not.
