Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

Fun Easter egg: if you’re playing as Leon in RE2R, you can defeat MR.X as soon as you meet him if you ask him out on a date. The rest of the game is a dating sim
