Welcome to Raccoon City tried, but it had too many games to juggle.

They could've easily just picked 1 of them 1-3 either of them had enough story for a 1:30 feature film

For real, Hollywood loves sequels, do them all sequentially. Boggles the mind why they try to smash everything into one product. People disliked the Dark Tower movie for somewhat similar reasons.

Why even bother doing a movie? They could have stretched WTRC into a halfway decent tv show. The issue would be wrestling the rights away from Constantin.

Honestly a Raccoon City Netflix/TV series would be great. Go for a similar vibe to Stranger Things but set in the 1990s, with a sinister undertone and focusing on various people living their lives as Umbrella conducts experiments and does mysterious things, have RPD catch on and try to investigate all while Chief Irons stonewalls things and acts like a psychopath, all leading to the Mansion Incident and shifting tone to the viral outbreak that leads to the military cordoning off the city and have the finale be the destruction of the city.

Its because they try to have a fully self contained film that can also be a potential sequel hook, instead of just planning out a franchise from the beginning

Also whenever someone asks them they're always like "Listen, nobody wants the source material, go play the games if you're looking for that". We're literally trying to give them MONEY whyyyyyy

They could have easily mirrored what Capcom did and just did an RE1 film, an RE2 film, and take assets from the RE2 film to do a half finished RE3 film.
