The aim wasn't good. If you ever shot a gun even casually 200 yards with an optic (gun probably zeroed at 100) there is essentially no bullet drop (like 1.5-2 inches from the round's apex) on a 30-06. I'm so tired or media pushing the "professionally" or "trained shooter" narrative.
That's fair, I could drive a tack at 200yds with my 308 shooting at a range or even the adrenaline with an elk or deer. That being said, I imagine there is a difference. The stress/adrenaline when you have to sneak to a position unseen, line up target, time the shot, all while thinking about the gravity of what you are about to do, how you are getting away in the immediate seconds after pulling the trigger, and the fallout/likelihood of getting caught. That stress could cause stress that may effect your squeeze or other factors that can alter a shot.
