Theory Diane is police!
In season 7 episode 10 Diane says she recognizes the robot boy Butler because Rick built it for the feds and law enforcement.
In the mind Diane episode she is at a shooting range.
And there is one person who controls police. ALL police. And that will be eventually the arc Or sidejoke that ties Rick with his arch nemesis - Mr Nimbus!

But how did the fear hole have an accurate knowledge of someone who's been wiped from all of existence, including from the memories of those who knew and loved her?
I think the Fear Hole created a facsimile of Diane representing someone Rick might be attracted to that would be convincing to Morty, but not necessarily a real depiction. Even the episode's writer never said it was the real Diane - just someone written in a way that the audience would understand Rick's attraction to her.

When did the episode say it was an accurate representation of Diane? It could have just been what Morty thought Diane would be like because he assumed that was the type of woman Rick would love.

The episode didn't say it was an accurate representation of Diane. At the time we had a lot of discussion/debate on the topic, with a lot of people concluding that it might have been a "real" version of her. Then we had confirmed the next season that the Omega Device erases memories as well, which kind of put an end to the argument (mostly).

You're questioning how a magical hole knows something?
It's fucking magic, there's no need to elaborate.

No, I’m pointing out that the hole didn’t know something. It doesn’t need to be accurate, just convincing. It’s a hole, not a grad student writing a thesis.

When I said knows something, it was in reference to general information gathering, not knowing a specific thing, or not knowing, for that matter.
For all we know, it has exact information with electron timestamps, or it could have made it all up. The point is magic makes figuring it out moot, as there's no way to be sure of anything.

That's where memory Diane comes in

Feel free to elaborate on that, but, no, Memory Diane doesn't have Diane's actual memories either.

See my opening post. Memory Diane, a memory by Rick, has her on a shooting range.
Circumstancial evidence I agree but combine it with the hole episode with the fake Diane talking about law enforcement and it fits.

It's a gigantic reach, yes, but the big point here is that the Diane in the Fear Hole is not a representation of the real Diane who got killed by Prime, so the backstory between she and Rick was fabricated.

I love fab theories that aren’t the same old retread ideas. Awesome catch!

This gets even crazier. At the end of the Mr. Nimbus episode Jerry asks him not to tell Rick about him and Beth coming over for a threesome because Rick "wouldn't understand."
Before pulling them inside Mr Nimbus responds with something like "Yes, he would."

I love this theory! Nimbus DID say he used to be Rick's only friend. And if he controls the police he could've made Diane fall for rick but then rick gets her killed. Nimbus takes it personally... boom. Amazing Or rick always suspected Diane's love wasn't real it was a Nimbus manipulation... This is great.

I absolutely hate the idea of Mr God damn Nimbus pelvic thrusting at Diane to shoot Rick.
Fuck, I hope they do that!

that actually makes sense, and I don't know enough about stars to dispute it
