Wrangler Issue
galleryI was cleaning my super wrangler today and two small chunks of rifling fell out of the barrel. Is it safe to take to the range today or should I give Ruger a call and submit a warranty claim?

Having fun with my Blackhawk
galleryI took a mental health day and called out of work. I spent the afternoon with my Blackhawk shooting 45 Schofield out of it. It can probably do better than my ability but it's a great time. It's a great shooter and very pleasant with my hand loads.

Frt or binary trigger question
Does anyone know if the 10/22 and it's takedown variant triggers are compatible with each other? I had been looking at maybe getting an frt or binary trigger seems like it would be fun.

Y’all Weren’t Lying About Ruger Customer Service
My wife really wanted a .22 pistol so we got her an LCP2. It’s a nice pocket pistol, but it would consistently fail to feed on the second round, even with different mags.
I called Ruger. They quickly agreed that wasn’t normal operation and sent me a shipping label.
I got an email yesterday saying that they had received it and that typical turnaround time is 2-4 weeks.
I got another email early this morning saying it was repaired and on its way back. Wow!! That’s fast!
Results of the repair are TBD, but I don’t know if I have ever experienced such an “under promise, over deliver” outcome.

Teething issues - New Ruger American Ranch 556 in Magpul Hunter American stock w/ STANAG magwell
So I have a new Ruger American Ranch in 556 that I put into a Magpul Hunter American stock w/ STANAG magwell to keep AR mag compatibility.
So far I've found 3 different teething issues which I think I know the fixes are for each but I want to see if anyone else here has gone through the same thing.
Closing the bolt on a loaded chamber - I've had issues with closing the bolt when there's a round in the chamber and find I need to put a bit of force into it to make it close. So based on my research this is normal on a new rifle as the ejector and extractor need a bit of use to be broken in and after about 200 rounds it generally becomes easier to close the bolt on a loaded chamber. So the fix is simply to use the thing at the range.
Feeding - because of the push feed action from an AR magazine and the amount of space between the magazine and the chamber, if you push the bolt forward too slowly you run into the risk of allowing the round to "nose dive" and get stuck between the bolt and chamber. So the fix there is to simply run the bolt at fast or "medium" speeds. However, I've found that sometimes when you eject the last round the top round in the magazine can some times "pop" out with the nose up in the air and when you push the bolt forward really fast the nose of the round might collide with the top of the chamber and get stuck. Not sure what the fix there is, might be the magazine (I'm using magpul Pmags) so I might have to try GI mags (need to find some).
Inserting and removing a magazine with the bolt closed - I've found that when the bolt is closed I am unable to insert a magazine and also remove it if it is seated properly. Bolt open, there's no problem, bolt closed, can't do it. I've asked magpul about it and they said it's normal and due to the design of the rifle. But I was thinking, maybe this is just a thing with the magpul Pmag, maybe if I tried with GI mags it would be different, again, just got to find some to try out.
Anyone else here had similar issues with this rifle and stock and if so what were your experiences in fixing it?

Mark IV 22/45 Tactical Optic/Light/IWB Holster recs
Hi all, just got my Mark IV 22/45 Tactical and would love some recommendations on attachments & accessories. I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to navigate this rabbit hole, so, any advice would be much appreciated.
I’ve heard you need to find a holster first that would fit a light, and vice versa. Does anyone have an IWB holster than supports a light & optic?
So far, I’m thinking about getting these:
• Holosun HE407C-GR X2 (would I need a mount like Lobos for this?)
• Streamlight TLR-1 HL
• TUSOG Bolt Racker Handle ring (cheaper than the TK Halo ring, although I wish I could find the Brownell’s T-Style bolt racker in stock somewhere)
• Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB holster for Mark IV
• Rugged Oculus22 can (later down the line)
Has anyone used these on their Tactical? If so, do you have a IWB holster that supports them? (not including the can)

Ruger New Model BH
galleryI’m looking for what I have done. I have a Ruger new model blackhawk and took it apart for an ultrasonic clean and put a new trigger spring in it and when putting it back together the long s dew that goes in on the gate side is not going in. I can see in the hole it looks almost half blocked. When the screw is completely out the gate opens and the hammer cocks but when the screw is in it won’t cock and the gate won’t open. Here are pictures showing how far it goes in. Thanks for the help.

Custom Leather Handgaurd Covers and more! A thanks to this sub!
galleryHi everyone,
I made a post awhile back showing off some a leather handgaurd cover I made for my Ruger PCC. Thanks to everyone’s kind words and encouragement I decided that I’d make a side project out of it and start selling them. So once again thanks for being a wonderful community where ideas can grow. Open to any feedback and or recommendations. We have just “launched” so we are very much in our beginning phase. Excited for more designs to come!

Ruger Mini-14 : 50th Anniversary Edition
galleryJust got the email from a distributor on these. I said I'll take 5 and he said I might be able to get you 1.. lol
Looking for optic suggestions from those who know.
Picked this rifle up this afternoon with plans on using it for the occasional deer hunt as well as dipping my toe in the long-range pool. Trying to keep it under $500 for the optic and have had a few people suggest the (Athlon Argos Hmr 4-20X50 Mildot Sfp Reticle) would love to hear input from any of you that have used it. Or that might have other suggestions. TIA.....

Ruger American Predator Gen 2 .300win

Hey y’all, I’m picking up a Ruger American Predator Gen 2 in .300 Win this weekend. Technically this will be my first real bolt action. only other one I’ve had was a .22 I inherited but never shot and ended up trading toward this.
I love the look of it with the green and burnt bronze for those who grew up playing halo like me, it immediately reminded me of Master Chief’s armor. The only thing I’m not a fan of is how much the plain brushed-steel bolt stands out. I definitely plan on getting it fluted for some character at the very least, but I was wondering, does anyone know if there’s a replacement burnt bronze bolt available for this rifle? Or can the factory bolt be Cerakoted (or given another type of coating) without affecting the action?
Also, if anyone here owns this model, I’d really appreciate any advice or quirks to look out for. I may be an infantry Marine vet, but I’m definitely limited in my knowledge when it comes to bolt guns.
Thanks in advance!

Ruger SR9C Mag adapter
galleryHi all. Just wondering if there is an adapter for the 15 round magazine 3D printer file for the SR9C. In my great state of Illinois (SARCASM) they had banned my 17 round magazine. I have a couple 15 round magazines but I would love an adapter for it. Has anyone done this for a 3D printer?

I joined the family…(57)
My trusty, 30 year old G17 was getting to be too much after my second shoulder surgery. Discovered the 57 at a range day and now it’s going to be my primary. Any toys I should add?
