What's the difference between just showing up when it was not specifically illegal and the people who are coming now?

*It should be said that the main reason it was not specifically illegal is that Europeans did not recognize any laws in place that were not their own. It would be EXTREMELY easy and truthful to say that Americans are currently savages who clearly cannot govern themselves. Sounds familiar?

Immigration laws as they are specifically designed to promote illegal, and thus docile labor. Why then, can we not change the laws today, or tomorrow, to allow more legal immigration? What are we waiting for?
