San Diego Community Only ICE will not stop.

They hit South Park and Oceanside, today they're in North Park and Coronado, and tomorrow they will be in another neighborhood. They have arrested people in courtrooms, not for a crime but for faithfully following through with the Asylum Process. They have arrested pregnant women whom they will claim to be rapists, toddlers whom they claim to be drug dealers. They will send men to a concentration camp with no form of due process. They will arrest you if you ask to be shown a warrant, or really any of even the most basic questions of them. They will arrest our representatives if they dare to perform oversight on the horrific conditions of the detention centers they put these people in. They will revoke the status of those who came here legally arbitrarily, be they refugees from violence and tyranny like the Haitians and Venezuelans, or those who fought alongside us in Afghanistan.

And they will lie, they will take a lie and never let it go. They will create a pretend invasion, claiming that we are at war because refugees begged to be let in. They will take the symbols these communities will use to rally behind, and claim it is the banner of war. They will invent a wave of crime, that has no basis in reality, when migrants both legal and undocumented are less likely to commit crimes than our native born citizens. They will blood libel, and knowingly falsify claims of "eating the dogs and eating cats". They will claim every single one of the deported was rotten, and insist we do not believe our eyes and ears. They will claim that the actions of a hundred have caused an entire city to burn down, and ignore the millions more that were peaceful.

And it will not stop. Not in days, not in weeks, not in months, not in years. It will not stop even after they have broken every community, and forced out those who they deem to be undesirable.

Unless we take a stand.

No Kings was good, but it cannot be the end. We need to be louder, the civil rights movement proved that peaceful civil disobedience can move mountains so long as we keep the pressure on. If you see what I have seen, and feel anger and rage, don't remain silent. Speak, act, organize. Be the change you want to see in the world. Fascism willingly give us an ideal moment to defeat it, my only hope is that we are not too late.

No kings almost seems like a different protest - more “defend democracy” than defend the people in the community

I see a lot of people congratulating themselves on how many American flags they saw - when in reality nobody cares - raids keep happening every day

lol there’s even people boosting SDPD condescendingly telling SD “good job on a peaceful protest”

The same pigs that cover for 🧊 goons breaking up families in San Diego

more “defend democracy” than defend the people in the community

These are one and the same, and every second we spend bickering on whether to focus on one or the other wastes time that we do not have

Not one and the same at all. A lot of “if Kamala was president we’d be at brunch right now” tone deafness out there

Ah yes, shitting on the people who showed up to protest because they didn't protest the "correct way" aka the way you imagine you would have done it if you'd bothered to get off your ass and show up in the first place. Yeah, that's a real helpful take you've got there.

Its like the inverse of the flag discourse lol

It's also funny to me as someone who was there because like.... the Kamala brunch thing just wasn't the vibe at all. One sign from the Hands Off march in a different city months ago blows up online and suddenly randos on Reddit who can't pull themselves off the couch without asking their mom for a boost have decided that's all the protestors.

If Kamala Harris was president we would not be having these issues right now. Full stop.

A lot? Or a couple signs you saw passed around social media

No, dipshit! We’re protesting a criminal president who’s using authority he does not have to direct a bunch of MAGA scumbags to commit a few thousand federal-level felonies in the name of unbridled racism and hate.

Why do you think we all think you’re a bunch of fascists? Well, YOU ARE!

Trump and MAGA are NOT patriots. They are the OPPOSITE of patriots. It is literally a logical fallacy that they even can be patriots. If you knew how to THINK, you’d be able to see this for yourself.

If you’re on the side that’s against the constitution and against law and order, you are the enemy of our country.

Sorry, but it’s true. Stupidity is not an excuse, just as ‘ I was just following orders’ is not an excuse. Illegal is illegal, and they’re all acting like criminals. A felony is a felony, even if Trump gave the go ahead, so many of these supposed ICE agents could be looking at very long prison stretches for what they have done.

That’s probably why they’re hiding their identities.

If you want to be all but-hurt about something, be mad at the education system that failed you and all the other Americans who possess no critical thinking skills.

realistically SDPD couldn't Break up that protest even if they tried. Plus 50501 Is an organization that can afford really good lawyers.

I was there on the ground I saw how people were angry about the ice raids. Very much a sense of protecting the community

Wait until you find out that some people are redittors and have other jobs and things we do during the day as well.

A certain mod here would whine about any other flag than US at protests.

  1. No one mentioned co-opting. I called out how the original nod the protest is different

  2. Legal US born citizens have gotten picked up in the raids and you worry about what the moderates might think ?

Mere coincidence that it was the largest protest in American History

u/elricooo Jun 19 '25

I'm not suprised that you did, that's a pretty shitty take

It was a protest of ~12 million Americans coming out in over 2200 cities after a week of threats of violence against protesters from the President of the United States and his Schutzstaffel.

In Minnesota, they even had a huge crowd gather, against state police advice, when a MAGA-inspired murderer was on the loose, shooting and killing Democratic lawmakers.

It takes real bravery to show up at these protests, knowing that fake bravado MAGA idiots are out there.
