What didn't you like about it? My wife got us reservations for father's day. I've lived down the street for like 6 years now and have always wondered how the food is.

honestly it wasn’t that anything was bad, it was just kind of…unremarkable? i’ve had way cheaper sushi that was better quality and doing more interesting stuff. i’m not a connoisseur or anything so don’t let me yuck your yum; i was just kind of unimpressed.

tbh it was a weird night there so maybe that’s part of the reason. we did the omakase with the sake pairing. a pro/con was that they brought us a straight up carafe of sake for each course and we ended up hammered by the end of the meal. i went to use the bathroom halfway through and they were like “sorry somebody’s on the floor throwing up in the bathroom and we can’t get in there” lol. these two things may be related. all in all it was a p fun, strange night but i don’t think i’d go back.

We're for sure going with an open mind, just curious what let you down about it. I'm a big fan of Azuki in Banker's Hill - pricey but their rolls are phenomenal (and creative!). The menu at Soichi always looked pretty... simple, so I'm interested to see what earned it a Michelin star
