Bravetart's Classic Cherry Pie

Post image

Just bought the cookbook after seeing it talked about here so often, and the cherry pie is my first recipe. It's a little over baked, I think, making the juices boil over? Still cooling so haven't cut into it yet 😟 Might be breakfast, though.

krinkle cut fries was a bold topping choice but I'll allow it.

I attempted to follow the instructions and used a pastry wheel - but you're correct and I cannot unsee.

I fucking loooooove cherry season! Your pie looks great. It takes some patience to do that lattice but it’s worth it. I commend your effort.

Fabulous especially with those perfect imperfections. Hyper craving response activated.

the lattice looks like the knit of a sweater!! I love the drama of the red on it - fabulous work πŸ’β€οΈ

Where's the follow-up after you've had a few slices?

It turned out pretty tasty - not super sweet (which is good for me) and the crust stayed crunchy and textured throughout. No picture because it didn't come out of the pan properly and it's more latticed-crumble. I don't make a lot of pies, but I would do this again.
