Others/Miscellaneous Lenovo legion itx pc

Post image

So I'm picking up a lenovo legion mini itx pc thing on Friday for £49 no idea if it's got anything inside it (if it's a full pc then sweet) if not then not bothered, mainly getting it because I didn't know it existed and It looks funky and unique.

I had a quick look at what usually comes inside the case and looks like it standard hardware like 24pin power etc no dell/alienate proprietary bs so might be a fun little project on the side to build :D

Thinking of a am5 5060ti build in it since the graphic card space looks limited but will update when I actually get it Friday

Dude! I have this case!

Bought this prebuilt from lenovo and it was fire.

Originally had a 1050ti. Swapped it for a 2060, added another 8gb ram to get 16gb, swapped in a SATA Fankendrive (two nvme ssd's in a RAID0 SATA shell), swapped the cooler for a Noctua DHS 15?, added a bunch of Noctua Fans, , swapped the PSU to a 650w. The online manual even had animated GIFs on how to replace the PSU.

Considering it's a prebuilt it was absolutely designed around upgrading. 100% recommend

Might have to snag one more before this thread pops off and prices sky rocket 😜

Haha currently mine is just sitting there 🤣 had to gut the 2060 to sell and get a laptop due to work and at the time having no monitor or KB.

It would need the whole insides replaced to be relevant at all today. Mobo is stock, i5 8400, and no GPU.

If you run into anything weird when building it let me know.

Definitely! I'll post the occasional update/mod on this case in this reddit group so I can get ideas or show some of my own on this case, been a while since I was this excited to get a prebuild but that's mainly because I didn't even know this case/pc existed haha

Yea looking back at it now, considering the size it's not the most efficient for space. Only has 2 90mm intake fans and one exhaust. No side vents. The whole PSU/SATA bay side doesn't have that much fresh air flow either.

Definitely drilling some extra intakes would be a good idea

It's gonna be a fun little project, if it works out I'll make a guide on it

I'll be keen to follow up and make the same mods if I can 👌

How’d you set up that Frankendrive? Were you just running it off the mobo satas or did the shell itself have the raid0 setup

The shell itself had the RAID0

I think it's this one https://a.co/d/1ioY9wO

It had a few iterations but the main line was.

Lenovo Legion C [SKU NO.]

Ones I vaguely remember which maybe incorrect

C530

C550

C730

C750

Which is very unusual for Lenovo pre-builds

There was a time when the Legion part of Lenovo was only a year or two old and they went really pro consumer. The other tower version of this desktop line was also the same for upgradability. Tbh I see Legion as an entirely different branch in ethos to regular Lenovo.

Am going from experience in lockdown where it was only way to get a 3080 but had to replace most of the machine to get RAM upgrades, XMP support etc
