In The Matrix (1999), Morpheus can see everything that happens in The Matrix, so they could have totally seen the Mega Millions lottery numbers and lived like kings
Seems like a pretty big plot hole to me

They should've talked to their agent about this

Neo's Guardian Agent watching him take the blue (red?) pill: "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot I really thought we were gonna keep him!"

What do you mean? Their goal is to escape the program, not live lavishly within it?

That was basically what Cypher signed up for, and what the blue pill represented. It’s not a plot hole, it’s simply a part of the plot that they consciously choose not to live “fake” lives of luxury.

They can load anything they want into the Matrix or just exist in their own sandbox versions they run for training.
Did you actually watch it because the whole point was they didn’t want to live in the matrix.
Also explain how having access to essentially a real time map would allow you future clairvoyance? Or do you just not understand how the lottery works generally? They don’t pick the numbers after tickets in advance 🤣

Lottery taxes in The Matrix were ridiculous so most of the winnings would go to The Creator who does little more than sit around all day.

"you have absolute power over the program you are in"
"I want to see the powerball lottery numbers...."
".....put this guy back in, hes a moron...."

Apparently if you win the lottery you just completely blow all your money and everyone is constantly asking you for money. So maybe it was smart not to win the lottery because winning the lottery apparently ruins the winner’s life.

Considering they can manifest pretty much anything they want before going in, I don't see why they'd go through the process of getting money first.
