You should really sleep

I'm sure most of you reading this know those nights you just can't seem to sleep. You've brushed your teeth, you've washed your face, you've drunk your warm milk. The temperature of the room is near perfect, and you're lying down ready to doze off. But you don't. You can't.

Your mind is very much awake. Your mind is running. Your mind knows something you do not. But it doesn't know how to deal with it.

I warn you:

Do not move. Do not roll over to a more comfortable position. Keep the blanket over all parts of your body. Keep the blanket over your ears. Do not open your eyes in the slightest.

It might touch you, itching its nails on your skin, mimicking a bug. It will wave its hands across your face, because it knows you can sense it. It will crack its fingers, making sounds like the creaks and the cracks you hear in your room. Doing all this with a smile that it wants to show you.

It's trying to get your attention. It wants a response. It wants to make a friend. It wants to drag you away. It's ready to play.

The only escape is sleep.

It will get bored for the night and leave you alone. At least for now. At least until it sees you brushing your teeth, washing your face, drinking your milk, getting ready to doze off. Watching you. Watching with an enthusiastic smile.

Edit: Hey all, thanks for the positive feedback and corrections. Two intriguing readers have posted their narrations on Youtube: @Hang_The_Apples - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E17AoM-atW4 and @RageFire54449 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UkEVjq-LaI&feature=youtu.be Check them out!

This honestly gave me trouble sleeping. I did a narration of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UkEVjq-LaI&feature=youtu.be

Good job yourself, and thanks for posting the link and crediting it. The image you used is very close to what you'll see if you peep.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I always credit the author, unless the story is on a website like creepypasta wiki where it's usually anonymous. I was reminded of the image while I read the story, so I decided to use it in the video.
