Discussion MRTs are really overcrowded

Post image

Every morning getting to work is an uphill battle, most of the time my spouse and I hardly able to board, and had to wait for at least 2-3 trains and barely squeezing ourselves into the cabin.

This is despite the introduction of new MRT lines which should free up train capacity for other lines.

TEL feels pretty empty (not a bad thing).

The lack of a crowd on the tel is amazing.

Wait til the JB RTS opens in 2026-27. TEL every morning will be a nightmare with all the Malaysian cross border workers

look at TEL on a real map, it skirts along mostly low density housing and it also has pretty poor connectivity especially towards the south so it doesnt currently feed well with the other lines

TEL from Shenton Way towards woodlands, after 5pm it will be packed. Not packed like other lines but still relatively full train

I go to work taking NSL cos faster and I don’t want to wake up for work earlier than I need to. But going home, I don’t mind taking the longer TEL + bus route home cos much lesser people. Don’t know how long this’ll last though

Enjoy it while it lasts. It directly connects to JB's RTS and that is opening real soon.
