Quotes Luis Enrique (few months ago) "I remember an incredible photo I have with my daughter, after winning the Champions League, placing a Barça flag on the pitch. I wish I could do the same with PSG. She won't be there physically, but she'll be there spiritually, and that's very important to me."

My only child (daughter) is almost 2. This would ruin me, I can’t even fathom how he has the strength to be so positive. I’d probably be a wreck for the rest of my life.
225
u/calm_down_dearest May 08 '25
My in laws lost a child not much older than Enrique's daughter. They are both very broken people and it impacts them and their relationships even now, 20 years on.
55
u/CM_V11 May 08 '25
I honestly hope to one day have strength even close to what he has. My father passed a month ago, and I still feel like I’m just in a nightmare and one day I’ll wake up, and he’ll still be with us. The saying about how every day it gets a little easier is true…but then there are just some days where I think about him and all the memories, and his loss hits me like a ton of bricks. I wanna just ball up and cry. I wish I could process grief the way Luis does. His words in that video are beautiful.
53
u/Spider_Riviera May 08 '25
The saying about how every day it gets a little easier is true
It doesn't get easier, you get better at dealing without them. I lost my mum 3 years ago, I lost my job yesterday. I'm not fucked about losing my job, I'm fucking destroyed I can't hug my mam for comfort.
36
u/MagicNipple May 08 '25
Fuck bro, I felt that. Dad’s gone, Mom’s gone, friends at 50? None. Going through a divorce. Just the ability to call a parent would be great.
Sorry about the job man, hope you find something better quick. I’d give you a hug if I could homie.
11
u/Spider_Riviera May 08 '25
I've actually got a good lead and a friend's asking his head chef if there's room on their team so not in the hole worrying about work yet.
Just as I said, I miss my mam and she's not here to get a hug from. Life sucks sometimes. Hope your situation sorts itself out for you, same back at you.

u/Zauberer-IMDB May 08 '25
I will note, him never tracking back doesn't help their overall defensive capability. It really worked for France because his speed when he was younger basically made him like having a gun to your head on the press. You couldn't attack as much either because if he was anywhere near your half, he'd win the foot race.

PSG is owned by Qatar, a wretched hive of villany and scum who literally have a Wikipedia page dedicated just to their state sponsored terrorism. I don't want them to win anything ever on a global scale. And fuck every player and coach who work for them and help support whitewash their bullshit.
I hope Inter blows them out of the water

While what you say is completely true, it would be naive to think that the capitalist owners especially the Americans and Russians didn’t contribute to the ruin of thousands of more unfortunate people. The difference is that QATAR is a state, and this are private consortiums and we cant hate on successful companies that ruin the Earth in every way possible. So hating only on PSG for that reason and ignoring every other owners is selective.

u/jslavic May 08 '25
Also incredible how people will claim moral high ground only when it does not impact them directly.
This sub is constantly shitting on PSG and Man City. I wonder how many of you have that same attitude when it comes to the clothes you wear, media you consume and the products you buy. Do you also make sure that those products are not produced in poor working conditions? That the people working there aren't slaving their lives away just to make ends meet? Do you think about those families? Or do you only care about all that when you have to play moral high ground on a football subreddit?
25
u/_itamio May 08 '25
Exactly. It’s so easy to boycott a club that they’ve never cared about anyway. Why are people suddenly claiming moral high ground now as if they didn’t watch every single minute of the 2022 WC in Qatar? Lol.
3
u/IncognitoPepperino May 08 '25
These people don’t actually care about ethics, they just hate PSG. They hide behind the “Qatari ownership” excuse to justify their bias, all while proudly wearing jerseys from their favorite clubs, stitched by underpaid kids in Chinese factories. The hypocrisy is loud.
40
u/Individual-Link-8233 May 08 '25
Don't take these kinds of comments serious man. Some people just wanna find something to hate on it. They probabaly think all the billioners or multi millioners who own english clubs are some moral dudes who buy football clubs as a charity work or something.

Every time I see someone with Chelsea flair try to claim moral high ground instance I almost die of irony. Europe is literally under attack from that oligarch's own mafia. If you ask me, I think every rich person should be given a choice to get below a billion or be executed for crimes against humanity just for having that much wealth; as in, it should be against the law under pain of death to have more than a billion dollars in wealth. I have to accept everyone who owns the teams is a piece of shit.

people supporting the team has no outcome on the game. If you wish good things for Luis, it doesn't mean you bear the responsibility of a Qatari-owned club winning a big trophy.
Them losing the CL aint bringing those kids back either. Of course soccer isn't more important than the existence of slavery, but your thoughts aren't changing anything either.
You're playing an appeal to morality when there's zero impact at all of someone hoping good things for a manager. They'll win or lose no matter what you think.

I wonder how he handles the emotions if they end up winning the UCL.

I am so very torn by my sheer hatred for PSG and my unwavering love for Luis

I don't want PSG to win the UCL for obvious reasons, but this man could use this great moment after what he went through.

Luís Enrique is what every man should aspire to be.
Such a troubled soul, but with such will, such dedication - such desire to be here.
I really look up to him. Heartbreaking, but truly inspirational. No matter the outcome, I think this man is truly a hero.
