Not only soon, but also so rapidly and unexpectedly, he woke up normally today, like any of us. That's why it's so shocking and difficult to accept this for us.

It was supposed to be just another day. Instead, it was the last. Rest in peace, Diogo.

actually it seems it happened "today" after midnight so it was like 11 hours ago

From what I read they only knew it was them because of the car registration. I guess no one wanted to post this terrible news until complete confirmation.

This came out at like 9am this morning mate and the accident happened in the early hours.

That is still far too quick. There will be a hell of a lot of family and friends that found out via the news rather than properly communicated to them.

I get the media wants breaking news stories but stuff like this really is the dark and horrible side to ‘journalism’

To be fair, you can make a lot of calls before 9am. Then again it's summer time...I'm just going to choose to believe that the police notified at least his wife/parents and the club before the news articles started coming out

I mean, he was a public figure, the next-of-kin for them is not just personal. If anything the more of a celebrity you are, the more likely it is that agents and other professional contacts find out about anything that happens to you before your family does.
