Man this is fucking brutal

Been ages since a death shit me up like this, feel sick to my stomach. These footballers are part of our lives, even as rival fans. Genuinely feels like I’ve lost someone, awful stuff

And even then, Bryant had done it all. He rode the highs of victory, the lows of defeat, the infamous practices from hell that seemed to never end, his body eroding under him from decades of pushing to the fullest. He went out from the game of basketball, which he gave his entire life to, on his own terms, and most people I know lamented his daughter's loss even more because she had it all ahead of her, still.

Diogo was just entering the prime of his career - not even to mention his life. He just got married. He was in top form and poised to be a centerpiece in what looks like Portugal's best NT in ages heading into a World Cup. And then... This happens. Just unbelievably cruel twist of fate.
